MANGO PICKLE

 
 
 
Mango Pickle

Ingredients:


Raw mangoes - 10
Salt - 150 gms
Oil - 500 ml
Mustard seeds - 100 gms
Red chilli powder - 150 gms
Asafoetida - 1 tbsp
Fenugreek - 50 gms
 
 

METHOD


  • Clean the raw mangoes in water and dry them with a clean cloth.
  • Cut them into pieces of 1 1/2 to 2 inches in size and remove the seed.
  • Now add salt the mango pieces and keep it in sunlight for 4 - 5 days till the water gets dry.
  • Roasted and powder fenugreek seeds.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds, and allow it to splutter then add asafoetida.
  • Now add 100ml of water to the pan and add the chilli powder.
  • Boil it till the oil gets separated.
  • Now add the fenugreek powder to the pan and stir it well.
  • When it gets cool add the mango pieces to the pan and store it in a container.
