The word yoga means "union" in Sanskrit, the language of ancient India where yoga originated. We can think of the union occurring between the mind, body and spirit. For these three to be integrated, emotion, action, and intelligence must be in balance
In Yoga, the body is treated with care and respect for it is the primary instrument in man's work and growth. Yoga Exercises improve circulation, stimulate the abdominal organs, and put pressure on the glandular system of the body, which can generally result to better health.
Breathing techniques were developed based on the concept that breath is the source of life. In Yoga, students gain breathing control as they slowly increase their breathing. By focusing on their breathing, they prepare their minds for the next step - Meditation.

The new yoga is the beauty yoga
A beauty yoga is the exercises of face based on yogic rules. It is believed that facial exercises can do a facelift that can tone and smooth the skin of the face. These face exercises are designed to tone up all the 57 muscles of the face and neck that can increase blood circulation and release tension (removing stress), restoring a radiant, youthful and glowing look.

The face needs to be exercised and toned in the same way we exercise and tone our body.

The following are some examples of the mini postures undertaken in theBeauty Yoga programme
Upper Eyelid Strengthener
Benefits:~ tones the upper eye lids. Reduces puffiness & enlarges eye sockets.
Bend the first fingers of both hands and place firmly just beneath your eyebrows, so the fingers look hooked under the eyebrows. Bring your eyelids into your awareness. With both fingers firmly in place gently move them up so the eyebrows are raised and then slowly close both eyes and feel the eyelid stretch. Hold for the count of 10, slowly release and relax.
Do this exercise twice
Lower Eyelid Strengthener
Benefits:~ tones lower eye lids. Reduces puffiness.
Place the first finger of each hand on the outside of the eye corner. Place the second finger of each hand on the inside of the eye corner. Bring the muscle beneath the lower eye lid into your awareness, think strong and up. Pulse 10 times and then squeeze the eyelids tight together thinking up to the count of 10. Slowly release and relax.
Do this exercise once
Rub your hands together briskly and place the palms over your closed eyes. Take deep breath and relax for 5 minutes. You can do this exercise in your bed or chair, at home or in office.
This yoga exercise relaxes the eyes and surrounding areas and soothe the optic nerve. This is very good for relieving tension headache.
Yoga for Eyes 3
Take out your tongue as far as possible with eyes wide opened and hold for 60 seconds. This exercise is to flush the toxins from the eyes.
Yoga for Lips 1
Smile while pursing your lips. This exercise works on the muscles around lips.
Yoga for Lips 2
Throw flying kisses. This exercise is for stronger and firmer lips.
Yoga for Whole Face, Part I
Inhale through your nose, make fists and squeeze all your facial muscles.
Yoga for Whole Face, Part II
Now exhale through your mouth, stick out your tongue, roll your eyes up and open your hands. Repeat three times.
Yoga for Wrinkles
Inhale through mouth and hold the air in your mouth to make a pose of a trumpet player. Hold for 1 minute and slowly exhale from nostrils. Repeat for 5 times. This exercise is good for removing laugh lines and overall toning up of cheeks. More tips on wrinkle removal remedy.
