தேவையான பொருட்கள்

பேரீச்சம் பழம் - 5,
அத்திப்பழம் - 2,
உலர்ந்த திராட்சை - 20,
பாதாம் - 5,
வாழைப்பழம் - 1,
காய்ச்சி ஆற வைத்த பால் - 250 மி.லி.,
தேன் - 1 டேபிள்ஸ்பூன்.

செய்முறை

பேரீச்சை முதல் பாதாம் வரை எல்லாவற்றையும் 1 மணி நேரம் ஊற வைத்து, மிக்சியில் வெண்ணெய் மாதிரி அரைக்கவும். பிறகு அத்துடன் வாழைப்பழம், பால் சேர்த்து நன்கு அடித்து, தேன் கலந்து பரிமாறவும்.காலை உணவைத் தவிர்க்கிற குழந்தைகளுக்கு இது மிகச் சரியான மாற்று. இரும்புச் சத்து, கால்சியம், கார்போஹைட்ரேட், கொழுப்பு என எல்லா சத்துகளும் நிரம்பிய முழுமையான உணவு.வாழைக்கு பதில் ஆப்பிள், தேனுக்கு பதில் சுகர்ஃப்ரீ, கொழுப்பு நீக்கிய பால் சேர்த்து, இதையே டயட் செய்கிறவர்களும் குடிக்கலாம்.

உப்பு-1 தேக்கரண்டி
தண்ணீர்-8 கப்

செய்முறை

பச்சை மாங்காய் முழுவதையும் ஒரு கப் தண்ணீர் அல்லது 1/2 தண்ணீரில் வேகவைக்கவும்.மாங்காய் வெந்ததும் தண்ணீரை வடிகட்டவும். மாங்காயின் சூடை குறைய விடவும். பின்னர் மிக்ஸியில் போட்டு அடித்து ஒரு பாத்திரத்தில் ஊற்றி மாங்காய் சாறுடன் போதுமான அளவு தண்ணீர் மற்றும் சக்கரை ,கொஞ்சமாக உப்பு சேர்த்து வாசனைக்கு ஏலக்காய் பொடியை தூவினால் மாங்காய் ஜீஸ் ரெடி. மாங்காயை அப்படியே சாப்பிட்டால் தான் சூடு அதனால் ஜீஸ் செய்து சாப்பிடலாம்.

செய்முறை :

நெல்லிக்காய்களை தண்ணீரில் கழுவி, சுத்தமான துணியால் ஈரத்தை துடைத்து எடுக்கவும். ஒவ்வொரு காயையும் நறுக்கி, கொட்டைகளை எடுத்துவிட்டு துண்டுதுண்டாக அரிந்து கொள்ளவும்.

ஒரு கண்ணாடி ஜாடி அல்லது பீங்கான் ஜாடியில் கொஞ்சம் சர்க்கரை போடவும். அதற்கு மேலாக நெல்லிக்காய் துண்டுகளைப் பரப்பவும்.

அதன் மேல் சர்க்கரை மறுபடியும் நெல்லிக்காய் துண்டுகள் என்று மாற்றி மாற்றி அடுக்கிய பிறகு ஜாடியின் வாயை மூடி வெயில்படாமல் நிழலில் ஒரு மாதம் வரைக்கும் வைக்கவும்.

அதற்கு பிறகு நெல்லிச்சாறை வடிகட்டி ஒரு சுத்தமான, ஈரமில்லாத கண்ணாடி பாட்டிலில் ஊற்றி வைத்துக் கொள்ளவும்.

தேவைப்படும் போது பாதி தண்ணீர், பாதி நெல்லி ஜூஸ் சேர்த்துப் பருகலாம். மிகுந்த சத்துள்ள குளிர்ச்சியான பானம் இது.

கோடை காலத்திற்கேற்ற மிகவும் எளிமையான ஜில்லென்ற பானம் கம்பங்கூழ்தான். அதை வருமானத்தில் கீழ்த்தட்டு மக்களின் பானம் என்ற அனைவரம் ஒதுக்கி விடுகிறோம். ஆனால் வெயிலில் அனைத்துத் தரப்பினரும் தினமும் அருந்தி குளிர்ச்சி பெறலாம்.

இதைத் தவிர அவரவர் வசதிக்கேற்ப வேறு சில பானங்களும் அருந்தலாம். சிலர் ஃபிரிட்ஜ் இருந்தால்தான் ஜூஸ் குடிக்க முடியும் என்று எண்ணலாம். அது தவறு.

இளநிரை வாங்கியவுடன் குளிர்ந்த நீரில் போட்டுவிடுங்கள்.
வெளியில் வேளையில் இளநீரில் ஒரு ஸ்பூன் குளுக்கோஸ் கலந்து நுங்கு தோலுரித்து சிறு துண்டுகளாக்கி அதில் போட்டுக் கலந்து குடித்துப் பாருங்கள். உடலே குளிர்ந்துவிடும்.

தர்ப்பூசிணியை கொட்டையை எடுத்துவிட்டு மிக்ஸியில் அடித்து ஜூஸாக்கி சிறிதளவு சர்க்கரை சேர்த்துக்குடிக்கலாம். ஜூஸில் அதிகம் சர்க்கரை சேர்க்க முடியாது.

முலாம்பழத்தை வாங்கி உள்ளிருக்கும் கொட்டைகளை நீக்கிவிட்டு, துருவி பால், சர்க்கரை சேர்த்து ஜூஸாக்கிப் பருகலாம். வெயிலுக்கு உகந்தது.

நுங்கை தோல் நீக்கி துண்டுகளாக்கி (மிக்ஸியில் அடித்தால் பசை போல் ஆகிவிடும்) பால் சேர்த்து ஏலக்காய், சர்க்கரை கலந்து பருகலாம்.

சப்போட்டாவை தோல் நீக்கி துண்டுகளாக்கிக் கொட்டைகள் நீக்கி சிறிது பாலும், நீரும் சேர்த்து மிக்ஸியில் அடித்து வடிகட்டி சர்க்கரை சேர்த்துப் பருகினால் மலக்ட்டே வராது. இரத்தம் விருந்தியாகும்.

சிலர் மாம்பழம் உடலுக்கு சூடு என்பார்கள். அனால் அது தவறு. மாம்பழத் துண்டுகளுடன் பால், சர்க்கரை, சேர்த்துச் சாப்பிட உடம்பிற்கு நல்லது. குழந்தைகளுக்கு கொடுத்தால், இரத்தம் ஊறும். பால் சூட்டைத் தணித்துவிடும்.

இரண்டு மூன்று வகை பழங்கள் இருந்தால் எல்லாவற்றையும் துண்டுகளாக்கி சிறிது சர்க்கரை, சிறிது மில்க் மெய்ட் போட்டுக் கலக்கி ஃபிரிட்ஜில் வைத்துச் சாப்பிட்டால் சுவையாக இருக்கும்.

வெளியே செல்கின்ற சமயங்களில்கூட செயற்கை பானங்களையும், ஐஸ் கிரீமையும் தவிர்த்து விடுதல் நன்று. இயற்கை பழரசங்கள்தான் உடம்பிற்கு நல்லது.

வீட்டில் பழங்கள் இல்லாத பட்சத்தில், தயிரை சிலுப்பி, மோராக்கி அதில் நிறை பானைத் தண்ணீர் விட்டு உப்பு போட்டு, சிறிது கடுகு, துளி பெருங்காயம், சிறிது வறுத்து பொடியாக்கிய மோர் மிளகாய் போட்டுக் கலக்கி சிறிது வெள்ளரிக்காய் துருவல் கலந்து சாப்பிட, நிர் மோர் அமிர்தமாய் இருக்கும்.

காலையில் வெறும் வயிற்றில் முதல் நாள் சாதத்தில் ஊற்றிய தண்ணீரில் உப்பு கலந்து குடித்தால் உடம்பு குளிர்ச்சியாகும்.

பீஷ்மர், சரமாரியாக அம்புகளை விட்டுக்கொண்டே இருந்தார். அத்தனை அம்புகளும் ஸ்ரீகிருஷ்ணரின் முகத்தில் வந்து காயத்தை ஏற்படுத்தியபடி இருந்தன. எந்தச் சூழலிலும் ஆயுதம் எடுக்கமாட்டேன் என்று பகவான் ஸ்ரீகண்ணபரமாத்மா செய்து கொடுத்த சத்தியம் அர்ஜுனனுக்கு நினைவுக்கு வந்தது. இதனால் ரொம்பவே கலவரமாகிப் போனான் அவன்.

அதுமட்டுமா? அதே சிரித்த முகத்துடன், திருமுகத்தில் உண்டான அத்தனைத் தழும்புகளுடன் இன்றைக்கும் நமக்குத் திருக்காட்சி தந்துகொண்டிருக்கிறார் திருவல்லிக்கேணி திவ்விய தேசத்தில்!ஒருவேளை போர் முனைக்கு ஸ்ரீருக்மிணிதேவியும் வந்திருந்தால் என்னாகியிருக்கும்?


அவனுக்கு முன்னே நின்றபடி, அத்தனை அம்புகளையும் தடுத்திருப்பாள் தழும்புகள் இல்லாத கிருஷ்ண பரமாத்மாவாக இருந்திருப்பார், பகவான்!

Marijuana waste helps turn pot-eating pigs into tasty pork roast

With Washington state about to embark on a first-of-its-kind legal market for recreational marijuana, the budding ranks of new cannabis growers face a quandary over what to do with the excess stems, roots and leaves from their plants.

Susannah Gross, who owns a five-acre farm north of Seattle, is part of a group experimenting with a solution that seems to make the most of marijuana's appetite-enhancing properties turning weed waste into pig food.

Four pigs whose feed was supplemented with potent plant leavings during the last four months of their lives ended up 20 to 30 pounds heavier than the half-dozen other pigs from the same litter when they were all sent to slaughter in March.

"They were eating more, as you can imagine," Gross said.

Giving farm animals the munchies is the latest outcome of a ballot measure passed by Washington voters in November making their state one of the first to legalize the recreational use of pot. The other was Colorado. Both were among about 20 states with medical marijuana laws already on their books.

The federal government still classifies cannabis as an illegal narcotic, and the Obama administration has not yet said what actions, if any, it will take in answer to the newly passed recreational weed statutes.

Matt McAlman, the medical marijuana grower who provided the pot leavings for Gross' pigs, says he hopes the idea expands with the likely impending expansion of Washington state's marijuana industry.

"We can have pot chickens, pot pigs, grass-fed beef," he said.

Draft regulations issued last week to govern the burgeoning recreational-use industry seem to leave open that possibility. The rules dictate that marijuana plant waste must be "rendered unusable prior to leaving a licensed producer or processor's facility," adding that mixing it with food waste would be acceptable.

Gross' pigs were butchered by William von Schneidau, who has a shop at the famous Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle. In March, von Schneidau held a "Pot Pig Gig" at the market, serving up the marijuana-fed pork as part of a five-course meal.

He quickly sold out the remaining weed-fed meat at his shop but plans another pot-pig feast later this summer, he said. "Some say the meat seems to taste more savory," he said.

The results beg the question of whether pot-fed pork contains any measurable traces of THC, the mind-altering chemical ingredient in cannabis.

The European Food Safety Authority reported in 2011 that "no studies concerning tolerance or effects of graded levels of THC in food-producing animals have been found in literature."

The agency also noted that "no data are available concerning the likely transfer of THC ... to animal tissues and eggs following repeated administration."

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has found several lapses in the government-run observation-cum-special home at Ambala. Children in conflict with the law across the state are lodged here. There are only two such homes for boys in Haryana.

An on-the-spot visit was made by a NCPCR member along with a social worker and NGO member on April 3, 2013. NCPCR member Vinod Kumar Tikoo said a timeframe of 60 days have been given to the home to rectify the anomalies.

One of the socking findings of the visit was that children residing in one of the dormitories did not have access to the basic amenity like a toilet after 7pm as it was found to be locked after the said time. The inspecting team stated that "it reeks of a very inhumane practice dating back to medieval times." In case of an emergency, a plastic can is supplied and the children are forced to use it.

Moreover, after dinner, all the children are locked up in their rooms and are not even allowed to go to the washroom when they need to. The staff provides them with a box to use in time of emergency for answering the nature's call. It was revealed that the access is not allowed to NGOs, social workers, citizens of the public engaged in the areas of child right, to interact with the juveniles.

It was also found that disposal of their cases are being delayed, leading to the duration of the stay of the children at the observation home for 4 to 6 months.

The team also observed that there was no proper mechanism/ programme of counseling in place to interact with the juveniles in the home. The home was also found to be overcrowded. Against the capacity of 44 children, 72 were found to be lodged at the home. Moreover, 12 boys were above 18 years, while a majority of children were reported to be lodged for petty offences.

The observation home has a pucca building with high boundary walls and the dormitories with heavy grilled gates, resembling a full-fledged jail.

The superintendent/in-charge of the home was not present at the time of the visit during the evening. Due to this, break up of the children according to their age as well as their referral from different districts could not be ascertained. However, the segregation of children as per their age was not reportedly resorted to at the home.

The special home housed in the same complex has a capacity of 25 and 21 boys were found to be lodged in the home, out of which 12 were reported to be more than 18 years of age.

For a pathogen with such a short history, the mysterious new virus killing people in the Middle East and Europe has already had an amazing array of names.

It first surfaced last year as " human betacoronavirus 2c EMC", but the suffixes " 2c England-Qatar, " 2C Jordan-N3", "England 1" have also appeared and many scientists have resorted to "novel coronavirus" new crown-shaped virus instead.

While the World Health Organisation (WHO) says the virus and the severe infections and deaths it has caused are "alarming" and need to be tracked, none of its names is especially helpful.

"A virus is only 'novel' until the next one comes around," Raoul de Groot, head of the Coronavirus Study Group (CSG), said of the catchiest of the titles it has acquired so far.

So with the death toll from the 42 cases identified at 21 and expected to rise de Groot's group has come up with a new name: " Middle East Respiratory Syndrome" or MERS, since all the cases have had a direct or indirect connection to the region.

The CSG, which published the name in the Journal of Virology last week, said it had been endorsed by the Saudi, Dutch and British scientists who discovered it, the WHO's European office and the Saudi health ministry.

But naming deadly new viruses is fraught with sensitivity, and the signs are this matter has yet to settle.

Difficult history

Human disease is littered with examples of fractious, sometimes furious rows over what emerging pathogens are called.

Some 30 years ago, when the human immunodeficiency virus, or HIV, was discovered, it was named "GRID", or "gay-related immune deficiency", helping to spread the slur "the gay plague".

It was not until it became clear the sexually transmitted virus was also infecting heterosexuals and haemophiliacs, that GRID was replaced with the more accurate HIV.

More recently, the scientific "H1N1" was the name that stuck for the pandemic flu strain that swept the world in 2009/2010 after earlier suggestions proved too sensitive.

An Israeli health minister objected to "swine flu" on religious grounds and "Mexican flu" caused offence to a nation.

When scientists called a "superbug" enzyme that makes bacteria resistant to almost all known antibiotics "New Delhi metallo beta lactamase", or NDM-1, the Indian health ministry called it "malicious propaganda" to put India in the name.

"Clearly, naming viruses and diseases after ethnicity, religion, gender and lifestyle is potentially stigmatising and offensive, and thus unacceptable," de Groot said.

"All parties involved were acutely aware of sensitivities around geographic naming and the issue has been weighed very carefully," he told Reuters via email.

The MERS decision involved Ron Fouchier of the Erasmus Medical Centre in the Netherlands, Maria Zambon of the UK Health Protection Agency and Ali Mohamed Zaki, an Egyptian microbiologist working at the Dr Soliman Fakeeh Hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, among others.

All of them played key roles in discovering the new virus.

According to a source close to the discussions, who declined to be identified due to sensitivities surrounding the issue, one suggestion was to name the virus after Zaki as a tribute to his work; he lost his job after going public with his findings.

It is early days, but so far, MERS has not caught on, despite the WHO's European branch saying "the WHO and other committee members strongly urge the use of this name in scientific and other communications".

A "disease outbreak update" issued from the WHO's global headquarters in Geneva on Wednesday referred to the "novel coronavirus" or "nCoV" throughout. MERS did not get a mention.

A WHO spokesman said he was unable to comment on the discrepancy but added that from now on "we are going to be using the new name in all our updates".

Catch me if you can! A lightning-fast Belgian racing pigeon named after Olympic gold-winning Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt has been sold to a Chinese businessman for a world record price of 400,000.

The Belgian pigeon Bolt' was sold on the auction site Pigeon Paradise - which comes in several language versions, including Japanese and Chinese, reflecting the sport's global appeal.

The owner, 66-year-old Leo Heremans from Vorselaar, Antwerp, sold his complete loft of 530 birds for $5.6 million at the auction, which was also a new record. He is a well known pigeon fancier and breeder. His birds were described as "killers" who stand out for their ability to "dominate and outclass opponents". It is expected that the new owner will use 'Bolt' for breeding more birds.

The buyers of nine of the ten most expensive pigeons sold at the auction were from China or Taiwan. In 2011, a UK record was set for the price of a racing pigeon when one was sold for $24,147, also to a Chinese buyer.

"Over the past years, a real hype has been created around the owner's pigeons, as they were doing so well in various competitions. This explains why they fetched so much money", Nikolaas Gijselbrecht of the pigeon site Pigeon Paradise was quoted by Expatica Belguim as saying.

The previous record price for one single pigeon was set by "Dolce Vita" , which was sold for about $323,917 to a Chinese businessman in 2012.

Facebook is now considered more of a social burden than a loved networking site by its teen users, a new study suggests.


According to a report by the Pew Research Center, teens' enthusiasm for Facebook is waning, lending credence to concerns, raised by the company's investors and others that the site may be losing a crucial demographic of young users that has long fuelled its success.

The study surveyed 802 teens between the ages of 12 and 17 last year to produce a detailed report on their online habits, the 'Huffington Post'reported . According to the report, Facebook has become a "social burden" for teens.

"While Facebook is still deeply integrated in teens' everyday lives, it is sometimes seen as a utility and an obligation rather than an exciting new platform that teens can claim as their own," the report said.

However, the report said teen's aren't abandoning Facebook - deactivating their accounts would mean missing out on the crucial social intrigues that transpire online - and 94% of teenage social media users still have profiles on the site, report said.

They're simultaneously migrating to Twitter and Instagram , which teens say offer a parent-free place where they can better express themselves , it said.

As many as 11% of teens surveyed in the report had Instagram accounts, while the number of teen Twitter users climbed from 16% in 2011 to 24% in 2012. Similarly, 5% of teens now have accounts on Tumblr while 7% are on Myspace.

American writer Lydia Davis edged past Indian literary veteran U R Ananthamurthy to win the Man Booker International Prize 2013 on Wednesday night.

Davis was announced as the winner of the fifth edition of the award at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. She was chosen from a list of 10 eminent contenders, including Kannada writer Ananthamurthy.

The prize, worth 60,000, is awarded for an achievement in fiction on the world stage. It is presented once every two years to a living author for a body of work published either originally in English or available in translation in English.

Davis is best known for her short stories, a number of them among the shortest stories ever written. Her work defies generic classification and she has been described as "the master of a literary form largely of her own invention". Much of her writing may be seen under the aspect of philosophy or poetry or short story, and even the longer pieces may be as short as two or three pages.

பங்கு முதலீடு (share investment):


ஒரு பெரிய அளவிலான மூலதனத்தை திரட்டி, உதாரணமாக ஆயிரக்கணக்கான கோடிகளில் முதலீடு செய்வது என்பது ஒருவரால் இயலாத காரியம். எனவே பணத்தை நிறைய பேரிடம் முதலீட்டை சிறு சிறு பாகங்களாக பிரித்து (பங்கு - அதாவது share) ஒவ்வொருவரும் பங்குகளை வாங்கி அந்த நிறுவனத்தில் முதலீடு செய்வது தான் பங்கு முதலீடு.


ஒரு நிறுவனத்தின் பங்குகளை வாங்கி, விற்க உருவாக்க பட்டதுதான் பங்கு சந்தை. பங்குகளை எப்படி வாங்குவது, விற்பது, அதற்கு என்ன தேவை என்பதை இப்போது பார்ப்போம்.


1) முதலில் பணம் தேவை என்பது அனைவருக்கும் தெரியும், அதை கையில் வைத்திருக்கக்கூடாது. தேசியமயமாக்கப்பட்ட வங்கிகளில் சேமிப்புக்கணக்கில் வைத்திருக்கவேண்டும், காசோலை (cheque book) வசதி அவசியம். Internet banking வசதி இருந்தால் மிகவும் நல்லது.


2) demat கணக்கு வைத்திருக்க வேண்டும், demat account ஐ நாம் நமது வங்கியிலோ அல்லது பங்கு தரகரிடமோ வைத்துக்கொள்ளலாம். அதற்கு நம்மிடம் வருடத்திற்கு ஒரு முறை பணம் செலுத்தவேண்டும் அல்லது நமது கணக்கிலிருந்து எடுத்துக்கொள்வார்கள். Demat கணக்கு என்பது நம்முடைய வங்கியிலுள்ள சேமிப்புக்கணக்கு போலவே, இங்கு நம்முடைய பங்குச்சந்தை வரவு செலவுகளை வைத்துக்கொள்ள உதவும் கணக்காகும். நாம் பங்குகளை வாங்கும்போது அதற்கான தொகையைக் கழித்துக் கொண்டு அதற்கு பதிலாக பங்குகளை வரவு வைக்கப்படும். நாம் பங்குகளை விற்கும்போது விற்ற பங்கு எண்ணிக்கையை கழித்துக் கொண்டு அதற்கு பதிலாக விற்ற தொகையை வரவில் வைக்கப்படும். வர்த்தகத்தில் ஈடுபடும்போது உங்களால் முழுமையாக புரிந்து கொள்ளமுடியும்.


3) trading account வைத்திருக்கவேண்டும். அது என்ன இன்னொரு account என்று யோசிக்காதீர்கள். Trading account என்பது நாம் பங்கு தரகரிடம் வைத்துக்கொள்ளும் ஒரு வகை வரவு செலவு கணக்காகும். தரகரிடம் demat account வைத்திருந்தால் trading account அதனுடன் இணைந்தே இருக்கும். நாம் demat account ஐ ஏதாவது வங்கிகளில் வைத்திருந்தால் trading account ஐ நாம் பங்கு தரகரிடம் வைத்திருக்க வேண்டும். இதற்கான கட்டணங்கள் தரகருக்கு தரகர் மாறுபடும். Trading account மூலம் மட்டுமே நமது demat கணக்கிலுள்ள பங்குகளை வாங்கவோ, விற்கவோ முடியும், அதுவும் தரகரின் வழியாக மட்டுமே செய்யமுடியும். அதற்கு தரகர் தரகு கூலியை (brokerage) நமது கணக்கிலிருந்து எடுத்துக்கொள்வார், அது தரகருக்கு தரகர் மாறுபடும்.
