    Dear Madhu,

I would not recommend taking 3 big glasses of fruit juice a day in the pregnancy. One glass of juice is not equivalent to one fruit, the quantity of (fruit) sugar is increased in one helping which will make you prone to high blood sugar levels and increase your weight.

Taking a fruit also ensures that the fibre content is intact when you consume it which is completely lost in the juice.

And as our body is unable to be as active as before to justify the increased helping of the sugar due to pregnancy, it may not be a great idea.

Water is precious and irreplaceable. The best sources of fluid is water try soups, buttermilk etc for fluids.

You can take a glass of juice where in you extract the juice of one fruit per helping.

Make the choices of fruits and food diverse so you can balance your nutrition requirement rather than sticking to one type of fruit or food items.

To increase the haemoglobin levels take plenty of green leafy vegetables, greens, and dry fruits.

    Take care….

    Dear Hema,

The urge to urinate frequently may subside eventually for a while once you settle in to the second trimester and come back closer towards your due date as the baby moves descended in to the pelvis and fixes its head.

Hold on just wait it out.

Make sure that you drink water at regular intervals rather than gulping large helpings at one time.

Check with the air-conditioning at work; keep yourself warm with socks and sneakers or a thin jacket. If the temperatures are low and you feel cold the trips to the toilet could increase.

    Take care….

    Rakhi

    Hi nachi,
Yes, Pregnant woman can consume choc, provided she has not diagnosed with gestational diabeties, not consuming other caffeine products as choc contains caffeine, too much consumption will make her crowd up in calories intake which will make her gain excess weight and also caffeine consumption during pregnancy should be less than 200mg..so a little piece of choc would not affect her...

    Hello Malati,

Most cases of nausea and vomiting in pregnancy is due to the short-term dietary deficiencies and it is not harmful to the mother and her unborn child. While short-term dietary deficiencies do not appear to have any harmful effects on pregnancy.

However, if you are so sick that you are missing meals day after day, your baby may not be getting all the daily nutrients to grow as healthy as he or she can.
