    Questions to ask at Doctor Appointments

    During Every doctor visits, there will be a lot of question gushing through your mind, but when we meet the doctor after hearing baby's heartbeat, the excitement will shadow the questions that's needed to be asked.
    So Don't Worry, here are some regular questions that you need to ask your doctor at your regular doctor appointment.

    First Trimester Questions:
    • What should I change in my eating habits now that I am pregnant?
    • Is there a diet that will help me handle my morning sickness?
    • Can I have street food, artificial sweeteners and aerated drinks during this time?
    • My mother says that spotting is normal, but I'm scared. What should I do?
    • Can I follow a completely vegetarian diet?
    • What antenatal vitamins should I take?
    • Can I climb the stairs and clean the house during my pregnancy?
    • Can I continue working?
    • Is it safe to go on working night shifts?
    • What exercise is safe?
    • Are there any medicines I should avoid?
    • How much weight should I gain during the first three months?
    • What tests do I need to take during this time?
    • What kind of clothes should I invest in? Is it safe to wear a maternity support belt?
    • What situation(s) should I consider as an emergency and call my doctor?
    • Is it safe to have sex in the first trimester?
    • Can I travel by car, bus, two wheeler, train, sea or air during this period?
    • Can I fast? Are there any precautions I should take during festivals? Can I play Holi?
    • Is it alright to dye my hair or use bleach cream? Is going to the beauty parlour safe?
    • Can I drink and smoke in moderation?

    Second Trimester Questions

    • What tests do I need to take during this time?
    • Will I have another ultrasound?
    • What do I change in my eating habits at this stage?
    • Can I take any medication for my backaches, heartburn or leg cramps?
    • Do I need to go on taking antenatal vitamins?
    • How much weight should I gain during these three months?
    • Is it safe to travel by road, sea or air during this period?
    • What kind of exercise is safe for this trimester?
    • Can I continue my exercise workouts?
    • Can I continue to work?
    • Is it normal for my skin to darken?
    • What situation(s) should I consider as an emergency and call my doctor?
    • Is it safe to have sex in the second trimester?
    • Should I sleep with a pillow under my belly?

    Third Trimester Questions:

    You are most likely to have a visit scheduled with your doctor every two weeks from 28 to 36 weeks of pregnancy, then switch to once-a-week visits until you have your baby.

    • What kind of tests can I expect now and why are they done?
    • When should I start my maternity leave?
    • Is there any change in my vitamin supplements?
    • Can I continue to exercise, clean the house and climb stairs?
    • What is the recommended weight gain for this period?
    • Is it normal for my feet to swell up? What can I do to bring the swelling down?
    • Is it safe to have sex during the third trimester?
    • I have abdominal pain, should I be concerned?
    • What do contractions feel like? Are they the only signs of labour?
    • I can't feel my baby kicking or moving? Is she all right?
    • What is preterm labour?
    • What should I do if my waters break or if I go into labour in the middle of the night?
    • If I choose, can I have an epidural?
    • If my baby is in the breech position do I have to have a a c-section?
    • Can my birth partner be in the delivery room?
    • How do vaginal deliveries usually happen?
    • What procedures will I go through in labour?
    • What happens just after the birth?
    • How will I know how to breastfeed?
