    General misconceptions of lice
    1.People with poor hygiene only get lice.
    No, lice moves from clean to dirty hair.
    2.Head lice makes your head itch.
    Nearly 50% of people never itch so it can take some time to realize they have lice. People who are allergic to lice saliva itch.
    3.Lice fly.
    Lice do not fly, they most often crawl from head to head through direct contact.
    4.You can give head lice to your pet or your pet can give you lice.
    Head lice survive only in human head.


    The strong fragrance of garlic can suffocate lice, ultimately killing them.

    • Grind eight to 10 garlic cloves into a paste and mix in two to three teaspoons of lime juice. Apply the mixture thoroughly onto the scalp. Leave it on for a half an hour and then rinse the hair thoroughly with hot water.

    Neem leaves or butterfruit leaves(seethaplam)

    • Grind neem leaves and apply on scalp. Let it soak for an hour then rinse the hair.

    Salt can also be used to eradicate head lice through desiccation

    • Mix one-quarter cup of salt and one-quarter cup of vinegar thoroughly.
    • Gently spray the solution onto your hair so that it becomes slightly wet. Put on a shower cap and leave it for about two hours.
    • Then wash and condition your hair.

    Repeat this every three days
