    Anemia in kids

    Anemia occurs when the number of red blood cells, or RBCs, in the body becomes too low. It's one of the most common blood disorders and can lead to other health problems.

    If your child has anemia, the first symptoms might be mild skin paleness and decreased pinkness of the lips and nailbeds.

    Other common signs are
    irritability,fatigue,dizziness, lightheadedness, and a rapid heartbeat.

    What causes anemia in kids?

    Iron is essential for the production of hemoglobin in red blood cells. Poor dietary iron intake leads to iron deficiency anemia, the most common cause of anemia in children.

    Iron-deficiency anemia can affect children at any age, but it is most commonly seen in children under 2 years of age, and in teens, particularly in adolescent girls who have started menstruating.
