    Re: Your Kids favourite recipe!!

Thanks BSMS and Priya. My kids are 10 and 6 year old boys. Like you said, I am making Cheese Dosa, Cheese Chappathi and making butter chicken with naan. But my husband is not worried since they are not eating anything without cheese. My little one is saying the plain paratta is spicy. I downloaded lots of kids recipes from net and tried but did not work out very well with my kids. Since I am also working in IT couldn't spend much time with them and their food and so finally ending up with their choices.

Try indian food with less spice and chilli .......... As their taste bud is now tuned to a blander diet you cant feed them regular food cooked for adults ....
Make it interesting too .... In terms of texture and colour .......
Also one thing i noticed with my daughter is they don't like gravies ... so instead of rasam , sambhar can make kalandha sadham - carrot rice , keerai rice , lemon rice , tomato rice , etc .........

Now that they have a set habit it is gonna be a challenge but it is not impossible .....You will have to be creative and spend time ..........

Make veggie cutlets with nuts etc - call it veggie nuggets.......

Make rasam with tomato and or lemon juice .... do not use much rasam powder .... Call it soup indian style .......

Can make fried rice with carrots , peas , sweet corn etc - the colour combo and flavour will entice the kid .........

Most importantly kids are mirrors ..they reflect what they see ........... so eat ur dinners together and show them that indian food is tasty and healthy ........
