    Mother's Milk

For an idividual, the health aspect starts right from birth and the very first food a baby gets and the elixir of life is MOTHER'S MILK.

Let me share some facts about it ,here.

Breast milk is the best food for the baby.
It is nutritious and helps the newborn by providing immunity to many infections.
The milk discharged within a few days of the delivery, is slightly yellowish in colour.
This milk is nutritionally and calorifically rich, containing antibodies which help the baby fight infections.

Breast feeding prevents the babies from many diseases like sudden infant death, childhood cancers, allergies, insulin dependant diabetes, diarrhoea, asthmaand other chronic and acute diseases.
It is found that girls who were breastfed have a less tendency of ovarian cancer when they grow up.
Breast fed babies are more active and mentally sharp.
They also have a less tendency to gain over weight.
Breast feeding is good for mom too.
Breast feeding moms have a less chance of ovarian and breast cancer.

While nursing the babies, the moms should avoid restricting diet or following weight loss plan.It will reduce the quality of milk being fed to the baby.
So The nursing mother should take a balanced diet with plenty of wholesome fruits, vegetables, wholegrains, protein, and calcium rich foods.

Oxytocin and Prolactin are the hormones related to nursing and milk production.
The release of these hormones while nursing provides calmness self-esteem and confidence to the nursing mother.
