    Green Bananas

    Every green banana contains 137 calories, 6.5 of which come from fat. The total fat content is about 0.72 grams out of which 0.28 grams are saturated fat. They contain large amounts of sodium about 348.23 milligrams per banana. Each one also has 34.94 grams of carbohydrates, 14% of which are dietary fibers.

    Green Bananas prove to be an excellent source of potassium. This is an element which is essential in ensuring that the blood pressure and function of the heart in a normal human body is maintained at average and healthy levels. Not only that, but the consumption of a single banana on an everyday basis contributes to prevention of high blood pressure and atherosclerosis.

    Apart from the benefits related to the cardiology, potassium can also strengthen the structure of the body. This is because it strengthens bones by reducing the calcium lost in the urine which occurs because of the high salt diets of the modern processed food eating man.

    Green bananas are also high in vitamin B-6, with a 1-cup boiled serving containing 39 percent of your daily value. Vitamin B-6 plays an important role in more than 100 enzymatic reactions in your body. It is also necessary for the formation of hemoglobin, the protein that carries oxygen in your body. Additionally, vitamin B-6 aids in blood sugar control.

    Apart from providing potassium to help strengthen bones, bananas help in other ways too. They contain large amounts of short chain fatty acids. Although these cannot be digested by humans, they help strengthen the cells that line human intestines. As a result of these cells being healthy, he body can absorb nutrients in much larger amounts. The greater absorption of nutrients such as calcium then leads to healthier and stronger bones.

    Spearmint is pleasantly aromatic herb packed with numerous health benefiting vitamins, antioxidants and phyto-nutrients. The leaves and herb parts contain essential oil, menthol. Unlike in peppermint, spearmint leaves composes only small amounts of menthol, 0.5% compared to the 40% in peppermint. Less menthol content would make this herb least pungent and subtly fragrant herb in the mint family.

    The herb has low calories (about 43 calories per 100 g) and contains zero cholesterol.he herb is also rich in many antioxidant vitamins, including vitamin A (provides 4054 IU or 135% of RDA), beta-carotene, vitamin C, folates (26% of RDA), vitamin B-6 (pyridoxine), riboflavin and thiamin.

    Spearmint also gives relief to your digestive system and eliminates gas from the system. It also strengthens our stomach.

    The essential oil coming from the spearmint leaves work as an anti-infective and antiseptic. However, it can be toxic if the dose becomes excess.

    The stem and the essential oil, extracted from the spearmint tree are used to prepare remedies for cancer.
    Spearmint oil can help in the problems of the respiratory, glandular and nervous systems.

    Cassava has nearly twice the calories than potatoes, perhaps highest for any tropical starch rich tubers and roots. 100 g root provides 160 calories. Their calorie mainly comes from sucrose forming the bulk of the sugars in tubers, accounting for more than 69% of the total sugars. Complex sugar amylose is another major carbohydrate source (16-17%).

    Cassava is a tuber that contains a lot of insoluble fiber or fiber is not soluble in water.Fibers of this type serves to facilitate the process of defecation, and able to absorb and remove toxins in the intestine, so that your digestive health.

    Cassava is very low in fats and protein than in cereals and pulses. Nonetheless, it has more protein than that of other tropical food sources like Yam, Potato, Plantains, etc.

    As in other roots and tubers, cassava too is free from gluten. Gluten-free starch is used in special food preparations for celiac disease patients.

    Young tender cassava (yuca) leaves are a good source of dietary proteins and vitamin K. Vitamin-K has a potential role in bone mass building by promoting osteotrophic activity in the bones. It also has established role in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease patients by limiting neuronal damage in the brain.

    The root is the chief source of some important minerals like zinc, magnesium, copper, iron, and manganese for many inhabitants in the tropical belts. In addition, it has adequate amounts of potassium (271 mg per 100g or 6% of RDA). Potassium is an important component of cell and body fluids that help regulate heart rate and blood pressure.
