    Natural Home Remedy

    HAIR LOSS

    Natural home remedy using milk, liquorice powder and saffron:
    1. Take 4 tbsp of milk
    2. Add 2 tbsp of liquorice powder
    3. Add a pinch of saffron
    4. Mix well
    5. Apply the paste on the bald patches
    6. Leave it overnight

    Natural home remedy using lemons and pepper corns:
    1. Take seeds of 7 lemons
    2. Add 8-10 black pepper corns
    3. Crush them together
    4. Apply on bald patches 2 times a day
    5. Do this for a few weeks even though you'll feel a little irritation
    6. One may feel irritation of skin after applying the paste. This remedy increases blood circulation and stimulates hair growth

    Natural home remedy using cinnamon powder, honey and olive oil:
    1. Take 1 tbsp of cinnamon powder
    2. Add 2 tbsp of honey
    3. Add 3 tbsp of olive oil
    4. Mix well
    5. Apply on bald patches
    6. Leave it for 20 min
    7. Wash hair thoroughly with water

    Natural home remedy using Indian gooseberry and lemon juice:
    1. Cut and de-seed an Indian gooseberry
    2. Crush the cut gooseberry to paste
    3. Press this paste on a sieve and extract its juice
    4. Add 3 tbsp lemon juice to this juice
    5. Mix well
    6. Apply this on the scalp
    7. Leave it for 30 min
    8. Wash off with normal water

    Natural home remedy using curry leaves, lemon peel, soap nut, fenugreek seeds and green gram:
    1. Take 15-20 curry leaves
    2. Add 1 lemon peel
    3. Add 3 tbsp soap nut powder
    4. Add 2 tbsp fenugreek seeds
    5. Add 2 tbsp green gram
    6. Grind the mixture and store in a clean, glass bottle
    7. Use this mixture as a shampoo

    Natural home remedy using margosa leaves:
    1. Boil handful of crushed margosa leaves in 4 cups of water
    2. Cool and filter the liquid
    3. Use this decoction to rinse your hair

    Natural home remedy using Indian gooseberries:
    1. Cut, deseed and crush 4-5 Indian gooseberries to a paste
    2. Apply this paste on the scalp
    3. Leave it for 15-20 min
    4. Wash hair with normal water

    Natural home remedy using curry leaves and coconut oil:
    1. Take 7-8 crushed curry leaves
    2. Add 3 tbsp of coconut oil
    3. Heat this mixture for 5-7 min
    4. Strain the mixture
    5. Massage on scalp when lukewarm

    Natural home remedy using lemon juice and almond oil:
    1. Take 1 tsp of lemon juice
    2. Add 2 tsp of almond oil
    3. Mix well
    4. Massage on the scalp

    - Aloe vera: Take 1/3rd cup of aloe vera juice. Instead of this, you can also take 1 tbsp of aloe vera gel with a pinch of cumin thrice a day for 3 months for hair fall control.
    -- Drink fresh juices of carrot, alfalfa, lettuce and spinach for aiding in hair growth.
    -- Sesame seeds: A spoonful of white sesame seeds each morning can be a great source of magnesium and calcium. They are very effective hair loss checkers.
    -- Yoghurt: Consuming yoghurt everyday reduces hair fall to a large extent. It is a trusted remedy for hair related problems.
    -- Green leafy vegetables and fruits: No one can underestimate vegetables and fruits for preserving hair fall, as they are rich in fiber which are an excellent in preventing hair fall.
    -- vitamin C, vitamin B-complex, zinc, sulphur and some important fatty acids are very important to make the roots of your hair strong. You can find these nutrients in sprouts, yeast, buttermilk, nuts, milk, soy beans and whole grains. Include these in your diet and you can expect to reduce your hair fall in a few months.
    -- Drink plenty of water. You do need to flush out the toxins that have accumulated in your body and drinking water is the best of doing it.
    Mix powdered Indian gooseberry (amla; amalaki) and sesame seeds in equal amounts. Take 1 teaspoon twice a day with water.
    Heat 250 milliliters of coconut oil in a pan, and add 3-4 Indian gooseberries cut into pieces. Heat until the gooseberries turns dark brown or black. Use the oil for a hair massage 2-3 times a week.
    Take 1 cup of curry leaves and grind them with 1 cup of buttermilk. Apply this to the hair for 1 hour, and then wash the hair with an herbal shampoo.

    Ayurvedic Herbs recommended for Hair Loss Treatment:
    Bhringaraaja: known as king of the hair, promotes hair growth on the head and effectively stops and reverses balding and premature graying. It helps to calm the mind promoting sound sleep. Bhringaraaja (Eclipta prostrata) is taken internally and used externally as Bhringraj oil and is an excellent rejuvenator
    Brahmi: This hair pack is available in most Indian grocery stores and used with curd is an excellent hair pack.
    Amla: Indian gooseberry is packed with Vitamin C and thus loaded with antioxidants. In powdered form it can be mixed with henna, brahmi powders along with curd to make a great hair pack.
    Neem: This is a natural remedy against dandruff and lice and also has blood purifying abilities. Use in powdered form with coconut oil or curd to massage scalp.
    Ritha: These are natural soap nuts that are used for cleaning hair without stripping off the natural oils. Use in powdered form to massage scalp and wash off thoroughly.
    Ashwagandha: weakened immune system is one of the factors for hair loss. Ashwagandha makes you feel energized and healthier. It stops stress, increases vigor and helps regrow lost hair.

    Basic guidelines one should follow in life for wellbeing of hair are as follows:

    Coconut oil or Sesame oil, infused with herbs like Amalaki (Emblica officinalis), Brahmi (Bacopa monnieri), Bhringaraj (Eclipta alba) or Japa (Hibiscus), helps maintain the color and luster of hair. Ayurvedic herbal hair oils contain a blend of hair-friendly herbs. If you can massage two or three times a week preferably in morning (1-2 hours before bath) for nourishment. Apply Narikela (coconut) oil or Sarshapi (mustard) oil (depending upon availability and suitability) at least three times in a week. Use of Classical Ayurvedic Medicated Oils like: Bhringraja oil, Neelibhringadi oil, Mahabhringraja oil and Brahmi-Amla oil helps to control complaints related to the scalp and hair.

    To give extra shine to the hair, after washing rinse the hair with some lemon juice mixed in a cup of warm water.

    Eat with attention on the food, in a calm and serene frame of mind, and one should chew food properly before swallowing. For a good digestion a healthy person should not drink too much water during meals, few sips of water in between bites is fine, otherwise proper watering time is half an hour after food. One should drink Luke warm water if oily, spicy and non-vegetarian food is consumed.
    List of beneficial hair foods include white Sesame seeds, fresh Coconut, Green vegetables, whole Grains, Dates and Raisins, Dadhi (curd), Sprouted mixture of beans, Nuts and Seeds and healthy fats such as Ghee or Oil.

    Ayurvedic system of medicine advises to cook food with spices and aromatic herbs as they improve digestion and detoxify our body tissues. Ayurveda advocates for regular intake of Haridra (Turmeric), Maricha (Black pepper), Methi (Fenugreek), Dhania (Coriander) and Jeera (Cumin) are both flavoring and Agni (digestive fire) enhancing. Herbs like Amalaki (Emblica officinalis), Haritaki (Terminalia chebula), Hingu (Asafoetida), Bhringraja (Eclipta alba) and seasonal fruits especially citrus fruits.

    Natural Remedy for Hair Loss in nutshell:

    Shape or condition of your hair is reflection of your internal health.

    Good quality sleep relieves stress which is one of the causes of bad hair health.

    Following healthy food habits is always beneficial for wellbeing of hair.

    High protein diet improves condition of hair, controls excessive falling of hair.

    Crash dieting, hormonal imbalances, anemia and low blood circulation cause hair falling.

    Regular milk intake, sesame seeds, almonds and dry fruits help to make hair full of life.

    Application of Sesame oil or Coconut oil or Mustard oil is always good for healthy hair.

    Regular shampooing with undiluted shampoos should be avoided as it will damage hair.

    Hair oils enriched with Keshya (Hair friendly) herbs are always beneficial for hair.

    Regular maintaining of scalp hygiene is of prime importance to control hair disorders.

    Brushing naturally dried hair stimulates circulation to the scalp and hair follicles.

    Cleaning with hard water should be avoided, as it makes hair dry, rough, messy and dull.

    Always dilute shampoo by adding 100 times soft or mineral water to it.

    REMOVING FACIAL HAIR

    Chickpea Flour, Milk, Turmeric Powder and Fresh Cream:

    1. Take bowl of chickpea flour
    2. Add cup milk
    3. Add 1 tsp turmeric powder
    4. Add 1 tsp fresh cream
    5. Mix well
    6. Apply and massage on the face, covering all hair
    7. Leave it for 25 min and let the paste dry
    8. Remove the dried paste by rubbing palms in direction opposite the hair growth

    Potatoes, Yellow Lentils, Lemon Juice and Honey:

    1. Take 1 bowl of peeled and crushed potatoes
    2. Press on a sieve and extract their juice
    3. Take 1 bowl of crushed yellow lentils (lentils soaked overnight in water)
    4. Add 4 tbsp lemon juice
    5. Add 1 tbsp honey
    6. Add the potato juice to this mixture
    7. Mix well
    8. Apply on face

    OBESITY

    Some Remedies

    Take 1 cup of warm water with 1 teaspoon each of lime juice and honey and a pinch of black pepper. Have this on an empty stomach twice a day.

    Mix powdered long pepper, black pepper and dried ginger root in equal
    quantities. Have teaspoon of this twice a day with lukewarm water.

    Boil 7-8 mint leaves in 1 cup of water for 20-30 minutes, and let it cool. Add 1 teaspoon honey to and a pinch of black pepper to the cooled mint water. Have this 2-3 times a day.

    Honey and Lemon Juice:

    1. Take 1 glass of warm water
    2. Add 1 tsp of honey
    3. Add 1 tbsp of lemon juice
    4. Mix well
    5. Drink in the morning on an empty stomach

    Lemon Juice, Black Pepper and Honey:

    1. Take 1 cup of water
    2. Add 3 tsp of lemon juice
    3. Add a pinch of powdered black pepper
    4. Add 1 tsp of honey
    5. Mix well
    6. Drink 2 times every day for 1-2 months

    Triphala Powder:

    1. Take 2 tbsp of Triphala powder, a commonly available Ayurvedic herb
    2. Mix it in 500 ml water
    3. Heat for 5 min
    4. Strain the liquid
    5. Add honey to taste
    6. Drink this 2 times everyday

    Tips:

    • Eat 2 ripe tomatoes first thing in the morning
    • Have a bowl of cabbage once every day. Cabbage contains tartaric acid, which restricts the conversion of sugar and other carbohydrates into fat. Those having Thyroid should avoid cabbage.

    Some Others -

    Mint is very useful. Mint tea will help. If green mint is available it can be made as a paste of with some simple spices and use it with meals.
    Vegetables like bitter gourd and bitter drumsticks are useful.

    Trifala


    Trifala, an herbal combination of Amalaki, Bibbitaki, and Haritaki is good for losing weight.

    Jujube


    The leaves of jujube or Indian plum are another valuable remedy for obesity. A handful of leaves should be soaked overnight in water and this water should be taken in the morning, preferably on an empty stomach. This treatment should be continued for at least one month to achieve beneficial results.

    Cabbage


    Cabbage is considered to be an excellent home remedy for obesity. Recent research has revealed that a valuable chemical called tartaric acid is present in this vegetable which inhibits the conversion of sugar and other carbohydrates into fat. Hence, it is of great value in weight reduction. Substituting a meal with Cabbage salad would be the simplest way to stay slim. Those having Thyroid problem should not take Cabbage.

    Tomato


    One or two ripe tomatoes taken early morning as a substitute for breakfast, for a couple of months, are considered a safe method of weight reduction. They also supply the food elements essential to preserve health.

    Finger Millet


    Finger millet is an ideal food for the obese, because its digestion is slow and due to this, the carbohydrates take a longer time to get absorbed. By eating preparations made of ragi, the constant desire to eat is curbed, thus reducing the daily calorie intake. At the same time, ragi supplies an abundant quantity of calcium, phosphorus, iron, Vitamin B1 and B2 and prevents malnutrition in spite of restricted food.

    Honey
    -

    Taking honey is an excellent home remedy for obesity. It mobilizes the extra deposited fat in the body and puts it into circulation which is utilized as energy for normal functions. One should start with small quantity of about 10 GMs. or a tablespoonful to be taken with hot water. It is good to take it in early morning.

    A teaspoonful of fresh lemon juice may also be added. Taking of honey is an excellent home remedy for obesity. Take a daily tablespoon with hot water.

    Fasting on honey and lime juice is highly beneficial in the treatment of obesity without the loss of energy and appetite. In this mode of treatment, one teaspoonful of fresh honey should be mixed with a juice of half a lime in a glass of lukewarm water. It can be taken several times in a day at regular intervals.
    Herbs like Amla (Emblica officinalis), Haritaki (Terminalia chebula), and Bibhitaka (Terminalia Billerica), Guggul are effective.
