3 Types Of Jewellery To Showcase Your Faith
Being a believer does not necessarily mean you are limited for jewellery selection. One of the ways to look attractive while proclaiming your faith in style is wearing a piece of jewellery with a symbol of your religion.
Most faiths do not prevent believers from wearing jewellery. Although there may be limits to what you can wear, it is possible to find a decent piece of jewellery that conforms to the principles of your faith and that shows a sense of style in your outfit. As a matter of fact, wearing jewellery that has a symbol of your religion shows some to the faith.
For a long time in the history of man’s beliefs, different faiths have had different ways of identifying themselves to other mankind. One of the means was through jewellery. Some of these jewellery’s were in form of necklaces, pendants, rings and bracelets, among others. For instance, necklaces with pendants are quite common among Christians since time immemorial.
These pieces were worn by men as well as women. They had a distinctive emblem of a cross as a symbol of Christianity. Today, different faiths have different symbols within their jewellery. If you are a religious devotee, here are some jewellery accessories that you can wear, not only to look good, but also to show the world what you believe in.
1.Pendant Necklaces
Pendant necklaces are quite common type of religious jewellery, not only among Christians, but also with other faiths. Christian necklaces normally have a pendant of a cross, with symbolic inscription of Jesus on the crucifixion, with his hands tied. Cross pendants can be made of different materials, including gold, silver, bronze, diamond, wood, stainless steel or even plastic. For Muslims, the pendant is a figure of moon and some stars round it.
Unlike the secular necklaces, the religious ones have minimal designs apart from their primary symbols. However, the jewellery can be of various colours such as silver, gray, white, black or blue, among others. There is no significant distinction between men’s and women’s jewellery.
2.Bracelets
Bracelets are also quite favoured when it comes to religious jewellery’s. Traditionally, bracelets were a popular piece of women’s jewellery. Today, it is fairly common to find a man wearing them. Although bracelets were not very phenomenal with religious faith attire, today, there are several wrist accessories specially designed for particular faiths.
Normally, the surfaces of the bracelets are inscribed with symbols of various faiths such as a cross, Virgin Mary, a moon and some stars, among other. Just like the necklaces and pendants, bracelets are made of various materials; ranging from gold to steel.
3.Ring
Many religions perceive the ring to be a sign of commitment. Different faiths have different ways of demonstrating their beliefs through a ring. However, the most common way is to wear a ring that has symbols of that particular faith. Others wear rings on various fingers to signify some message. For instance, rings among Christians show commitment between man and wife who have wedded according to church customs.
Modern rings are adorned with precious metals and designs, and although they may not expressively show any symbol of faith, they remain a key part of religious accessories across the world.
