    Re: gestational diabetes

    Dear Ramya

Gestational Diabetes has become very common now. Even my sister had this problem and if you follow doctor's advice, nothing to worry at all..

GD, I believe, does not necessarily cause your baby to have diabetes. However, if left untreated, it can cause your baby to produce much insulin and gain too much weight.

So, be careful in having a healthy diet.. Dont try to stop eating bcos of this fear.

Eat foods with less sugar and fat. Avoid Ice creams, candy, cookies n cakes..
Choose foods high in fiber such as whole-grain breads, cereals, pasta, rice, fruits and vegetables.

Your glucose level will come back to normal after delivery. So, get ready for a safe delivery and a healthy baby

    Hi Ramya,

Nothing to worry about Gestational Diabetes. What Deepa has said is correct.

Please go as per your Doctor's advice and medicines. You may need to take insulin injections everytime before food.

Please do not forget this. You can deliver a very healthy baby.

    Re: gestational diabetes

    Hi ramya
dnt feel for that. if u r at just the risk u can follow some simple steps.
    1) eat food at regular intervals (konjam konjama niraya thadavai sapdunga)
    2) drink fruit juices without sugar (except citrus)
    3) lessen ur sugar in coffee
    4) take less sweet.
    5) better avoid horlicks as some persons will tell it will increase sugar.

this will reduce the risk of diabetes during pregnancy. this tips were given by dr for me during pregnancy as the same happened to me. all the best for u and ur kutti baby.
