    Snow Man Craft Work

    Materials required:

Egg shell (or any round material) - 3
    Cotton
    Glue
    Red Satan ribbon
    Red varnish paper
    Black stickers
    Disposable glass
    Scissors

    Method:

By making small hole in the egg empty its contents. Take the first egg and stick the cotton to it to the head size of the snow man. Then to the second egg stick the cotton little more then the fist one. This will be the middle part of the snow man. Then to the third egg stick lot of cotton since this is the last portion of the snow man which will be very big.

    Join the eggs together.

Once you have joined the eggs together stick the black stickers as the snow man eye, mouth and also for buttons. Then take the red varnish paper and make a small cone out of it. Just stick it at the place of the nose. For the cap use the disposable cup and cut it to the shape of the cap. Then take the remaining red varnishing paper and stick it around the glass. Make sure that the diameter of the glass fits into the snow man's head.

Then tie the red Satan ribbon around the neck as a bow.

The beautiful snow man is ready.

    Sunshine Craft

    Materials

    1 small paper plate
    yellow tissue paper
    yellow craft paint
    white glue or tape
1 2 - 3 inch piece of string or yarn
    1 paint brush
    1 sheet black construction paper
    2 wiggly eyes
newspaper (to cover and protect your surfaces)

    Instructions

    1. Gather together all of your materials.

    2. Cover your surface with newspaper and place the small plate on it, bottom side up.

    3. Paint the entire bottom of the paper plate yellow with the craft paint. Set aside to dry.

    4. While you're waiting on the paint to dry, cut out 25 2-inch squares out of the yellow tissue paper. If you're making these for a pool party, you may want to have an adult cut out the squares ahead of time. You can cut several squares at a time by stacking several pieces of tissue paper together before you cut them.

    5. Once the paint is dry, poke your finger into center of a tissue square so that the tissue square is covering your finger (see photo). Dip the end of your covered finger into a little craft glue.

    6. Turn the paper plate over (so the painted side is now face down) and glue the tissue squares to the outside edge of the plate (see photo). Repeat this until you have tissue paper squares all the way around the outside of the plate making the sun's rays.

    7. Glue or tape your piece of string or yarn to the top part of the plate to make a hanger. Put a little glue on each end of the string and adhere it to the plate, leave the string a little loose in the middle to hang the sun once you're finished. Set plate aside and wait for the glue to dry.

    8. While you give the glue a few minutes to dry, cut out a mouth for your sun from black construction paper. To make a smiling mouth, trace 1/3 of the way around a small glass, then draw in a second curving line that makes the mouth narrow at the edges and wider in the center. If you'd like you can add two small triangle shapes to each end of the smile for dimples (like in the photo).

    9. Cut out the mouth. If you're making these for a party, you may want to cut out several mouths ahead of time and prepare them for the kids to paste on.

    10. Once your plate is totally dry, flip it over so the painted side is up.

    11. Glue on the wiggly eyes and the mouth.

    12. Hang your craft on a wall or door using the string on the back.

    Tips

If you don't want to use paint, you can also use a marker to color the sun and draw on the sun's face.

If you don't have any wiggly eyes you can cut some out of construction paper, or cut out a pair of sunglasses from construction paper for your sun wall hanging.

    AGAINST THE LAW OF GRAVITY!

When an apple fell on Newton's head, he formulated the law of gravity. According to this law, every object is attracted towards the centre of the earth with a force called the gravitational force.

But if Newton were to see this ring suspended in mid-air without any support, one wonders what he would have done.

    The things you need:

    1. A ring
    2. Cotton thread
    3. Matchbox
    4. Salt

Step 1: Soak the thread in salt water for sometime. Leave it to dry. Repeat this two to three times.

Step 2: Now tie this thread to the ring and suspend it. Ask someone to burn the thread from the middle.

The ring will not fall. Perfect the trick by practicing, but do not perform where there is a strong wind current.

    LET'S TANGO!

If you are interested in making music, why not start by making a music instrument from things easily available at home?

    The things you need:
    1. An empty toothpaste pack
    2. Three rubber bands
    3. A sheet of coloured paper
    4. Glue
    5. A blade or paper cutter

Step 1:Cover the entire pack with a coloured paper. Use glue to stick the paper.

Step 2: Draw a rectangle of 1 inch x 2 inches on the upper side of the pack. The rectangle should be in the middle of the pack.

Step 3: Cut out this rectangle with a blade or a paper cutter.

Step 4: Take the rubber bands and place them around the pack, along the length. They are the strings of your musical instrument. Pluck the strings and hear the sound! Also decorate the instrument the way you want to.

Your tango is ready to be played. The rectangular hollow in the middle of the instrument will ensure that any sound you create by plucking the strings, will enhance the sound. Now all you have to do is get ready with a song. And let the music say the rest!

    Ice Cream Stick Photo Frame

How do we make sure that our favourite person stays by our side at most times? Simple - we frame their photographs and keep them in a place where we can always see them. What fun if we could make the photo frames too! And it is not at all difficult. The things you need:
    1. Ice Cream sticks.
    2. Adhesive.
    3. Colours.
    4. Thick string or wire.
Step 1 Collect around 15 ice cream sticks. For the base of the frame, stick the ice cream sticks as shown in the picture.

Step 2 Leave half-an-inch space from all the sides and glue four sticks on the base to make the upper layer of the frame.

Step 3 Slide the photograph through the gap.

Step 4 Take a thick wire or a string to make a loop. Stick the two ends of the loop at the back of the frame. You can now hang your photo frame.
You can draw a variety of patterns on the side of your photo frame with the help of crayons.

    Bunny Rabbit

If you wish to make a toy at home that does not take much time, then try this. It looks cute and can be added to your soft toy collection.

    The things you need:

    1. Fused bulb
    2. Cotton
    3. Adhesive
    4. Black pepper corns
    5. Velvet paper or the Indian 'Bindi'
    6. Scissors

Step 1: Take a bulb and stick cotton on it, covering it completely. Give additional padding of cotton for the mouth of the rabbit.

Step 2: Cut out the cotton in the shape of rabbit ears and stick them to the rabbit's head.

Step 3: Also, stick four cotton balls for the legs and one for the tail.

Step 4: Finally, stick two black pepper corns for the eyes and cut the velvet paper or 'bindi' in a crescent shape to make the mouth.

And, if you wish to make whiskers, then you could use a plastic string, or finer hair of the broomstick.

    Paper Fan

A fan is the ideal thing to have when you are sweating on a bright sunny summer day.

    All you need is:

    1. Paper

    2. One strand from the broom stick

    3. Adhesive

    4. Colours

Step 1: Fan fold the paper as shown in the figure.

Step 2: Again fold it from the centre and stick the inner leaves of the paper with each other.

Step 3: Break two sticks from the end of the broom stick and stick it to the fan as shown in the picture. This will make it easier to hold and to fan.

Use bright colours to colour your fan and carry it with you as it is likely to come in quite handy.
