    Dear Reshmi,

Here are a couple of ways you can take care of your dry skin

    Moisturise well

Apply lotions and moisturizers after taking a bath every day. Choose a moisturizer that is thick in nature. Reapply as and when your skin tends to get dry.

    Stay hydrated

Drink about eight to 10 glasses of water every day. Drinking lots of water on a daily basis will provide hydration. One of the reasons dry skin tends to get even drier is because it suffers from dehydration. Drinking water ensures your skin is healthy and glowing.

Take a bath in lukewarm water

Instead of taking a bath with hot water will rob your skin of moisture. Thus make sure that you are bathing in lukewarm water. Also steer clear of cold water; it will make your skin even drier.

    Exfoliate often

Make sure that you exfoliate your skin every alternate day. Exfoliation will ensure that your skin is clear and dead cells are removed. You can opt for showering with a loofah, a pumice stone or using an exfoliating scrub. Treat your face with a gentle exfoliator and stay clear of the area around your eyes.

Protect your skin from harsh weather

Try and protect your skin from harsh weather conditions. Especially during the winter months make sure that you moisturize your skin well and keep yourself warm.

    HI there,

you can use virgin coconut oil for dry skin care during winter

Merit VCO is extra virgin coconut oil extracted from coconut milk for dry skin it is excellent moisturizer for skin care during winter
There's nothing worse than dry, itchy skin. Dry skin can happen any time during the year, but is most prevalent in winter (hence the term, "winter itch"). Find out why your skin tends to be dry in winter and how to solve dry hands, feet, body, face and lips year-round.

Why Do I Suffer From Dry Skin in the Winter?

In winter, low temperatures, low humidity and strong, harsh winds deplete skin of its natural lipid layer, which keeps the skin from drying out. The dryair from furnaces and other heating sources also suck the moisture out of skin. To keep skin soft and supple, your goal is not to add moisture to skin, but to keep moisture in.
One of the best ways to moisturize your Winter dryskin is using MeritVCO virgin coconut oil. That's right, pure coconut oil. Not only do I put coconut oil on my dry skin to moisturize it, but it is very good for you to take by mouth also. Coconut oil have properties in it that are very similar to omega three fish oils. In other words it's a good oil. It won't clog your arteries. It's very good for your heart. If you don't like to take it plain by mouth, you can cook with it and get the same healthy benefits. You will be surprised about how much this over-looked oil will help a lot of your ailments also. Many people take it for arthritis and other things. Not only does it moisturize your skin it is great for your hair.
Try it, I guarantee you'll like it.

Re: How to take care of super dry skin this winter?

    HI there,

Today we will discuss five natural ways to take care of our skin this winter.
    Stay Hydrated
Drinking enough water helps your skin stay in good shape no matter the season.During the colder months we spend a lot of time inside, with heaters blowing or fires crackling; our bodies are losing moisture and it needs to be replenished.Keep the kettle going and sip herbal tea throughout the day or fill a jug or bottle with water in the morning with the goal of finishing it by dinner time.Apparently drinking with a straw helps you suck down more water. Iím not sure if thatís true, but if youíre struggling to drink enough, it might be worth a try.

    Exfoliate
Dry skin means dead skin cells. Dead skin cells mean dull skin. Take care of both by exfoliating weekly.Inexpensive, homemade sugar or salt scrubs are excellent exfoliators for the body.

To make a basic body scrub: add a cup of sugar or salt (or a mixture of both) to a bowl and stir in a little oil until the desired consistency is reached. I usually use around 1/3 Ė 1/2 cup of oil and 1 cup of sugar).

To make a facial scrub, mix ground oatmeal, cornmeal or oats with a little water or milk until a paste forms. Apply in circular motions, staying clear of the eyes. Leave to sit for a minute of two and rinse off with warm water.Scrubs usually work best when applied to damp skin.Never use scrubs on broken skin or skin that is wind-burned or sun-burned.

    Moisturize
Many commercial moisturizers donít hydrate skin effectively and often contain chemicals and fragrances that can be drying.Oils such as coconut, olive, safflower and jojoba are perfectly natural and actually nourish skin as well as moisturize. The best time to apply oil is right after drying off from a bath or shower.Itís not necessary to be completely dry, a little dampness is a good thing. This has a different feel to regular lotion, but doesnít take long to get used to.Oil can be used straight from the bottle, however itís also easy to make scented body oil, if youíre so inclined; simply add 20 to 30 drops of essential oil to 1 cup of oil, or try these lovely combinations from Crunchy Betty.

Keep Shower and Bath Temperatures Low
Hot water dries out your skin. Itís a sad fact, I know. I love my hot showers, too.If youíre serious about taking care of your skin, then you need to turn the temps down in the tub or at least shorten the duration of your soak. Weíre not talking cold here, just warm instead of sizzling hot! (You shouldnít look like a lobster when you exit the bathroom. Not that Iíve ever been accused of that. Ahem.)Itís also worth getting a shower filter since the chlorine in most city water is not beneficial to your health in any way (including the condition of your skin).

    Protect Yourself from the Elements
This is probably a no-brainer, but Iíll say it anyway: wear hats, gloves and coats when outside.Winter wind and cold can be very harsh. In fact, a strong, icy wind has the potential to cause burns.Itís sometimes hard to remember that the sun can also burn when itís cold, but it can. On the days when youíre out for extended periods of time, be sure to cover up.
