6 Homemade Toners for Normal Skin

6 Homemade Toners for Normal Skin

After cleansing your face properly, it is very important to tone it so that all the leftover traces of dirt, cleanser and excess oil are removed from the surface of your skin.
In this day and age, market is bursting with lot of face toners. But all these can be heavy on everyone’s pocket. Why to spend money for something that contains chemicals? and why to spend money for something, when you can whip up your own facial toner cheaply at home?

Well here’s how you can do it.
    Cucumber-Green Tea Toner
Take 1 medium sized cucumber and extract its juice either by passing it through a juicer or by pureeing it in a blender or food processor and pressing it through a cheesecloth. Collect about 1/4 cup cucumber juice. Now make green tea by pouring 1/2 cup freshly boiled water over 1 green tea bag or 1 tsp whole green tea leaves and steep, covered, for 5-7 minutes. Take Jasmine flavoured tea if you want to make a lovely scented toner. Strain tea leaves from the tea and let the tea cool completely. Once you have both the main ingredients ready pour them in a glass bottle and then add 1 tbsp vodka in it. Shake well and store the bottle in your refrigerator.
Red grape juice antioxidant skin toner
Strain out pure grape juice in a juicer and store in an air tight clean dry bottle and use as and when toning is needed , a wonderful skin toning and tightening recipe.

    White Wine and Mint Toner
Take 1 teaspoon dried Rosemary, 1 teaspoon dried Thyme, 1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh Mint leaves and 1 cup White wine. Put all ingredients in a pan and let it gently simmer for about 10 minutes. Leave it to steep and cool down for at least one hour. Strain this mixture and store in a clean spray bottle. Rosemary is a natural astringent that stimulates cell renewal and battles blemishes and acne outbreaks. Alpha-hydroxy in wine also encourage cell renewal and growth
Brandy, White wine & Rosemary Toner
Take one and a half tablespoon rosemary leaves, one and a half cup mineral water, 1 tablespoon brandy and 1 tablespoon white wine. Put all ingredients in a pan and let them gently simmer for 20 minutes. . Leave it to steep and cool down for at least one hour. Strain this mixture and store in a clean spray bottle. To use spread it on your face with cotton wool pads.
    Mint Tea Toner
Make a cup of strong mint tea, then mix it with 2 tablespoons of carrot juice, 4 tablespoons of cucumber juice, and what can be poured out of one lemon. Blend these well. The recipe works wonderfully as an icy toner: make it into ice cubes and use one whenever needed.

    Apple Toner
Take 1 apple and remove its core and skin. Place the apple, chopped into quarters, into a blender. Puree the mixture and press it through a cheesecloth to get its juice. Now add 2 tbs honey in it and store in a clean spray bottle.

Hi! Knew about apple and mint toners, but white wine? this is the first time. While I use a natural toner myself - coconut milk. With amazing properties, coconut milk helps tone a damaged skin and makes it soft and glowing. But give it some time. You will probably notice the change about 6 weeks later. But isn't that the case with most natural products?
