    Weight Loss Tips for Women


    One of the major aspects of losing weight for a woman is to regain a slimmer figure and a well toned, lithe and fit looking body. So in order to get that body, certain things are going to have to be done and not all of them are going to be quite as simple as taking a magic pill and sitting back while the magic does its thing. In fact, quite a lot of it is going to have to be done by one person and that person is you and only you.


    After all, it's your body and you are responsible for the way it looks. So the first of these important weight loss tips for women is that you must take responsibility for your body starting right now! Taking responsibility for your body and the way it looks and feels is empowering and satisfying because you get to know without a shadow of a doubt that it is all your own work and no one else's. Once you have lodged that important notion in your brain, its time to use that particular organ to make things start to happen...

    Weight Loss is In the Mind


    Your mind is your biggest ally when it comes to losing weight and if you use it properly, it can make everything you set it to come about far more easily than had you not had it working on your favor. To that end, you need to nurture and propagate a positive mental attitude. Adopting a "can do" attitude is one of the ways in which you will succeed beyond your wildest dreams at anything you set your mind to and that includes getting the great looking body that you desire.


    To do this, you need to overshadow any thoughts of negativity and a "no I can't" attitude with more powerful thoughts of positivity and a "yes I can" attitude. It all starts with belief. Belief is having faith in yourself and your ability to do whatever you set your mind to doing no matter what anyone else says and no matter what obstacles are thrown in your path. Instead of listening and taking notice of what other people might say to you to derail you by trying to convince you that you can't do what it is you want to do, simply let what they say go in one ear and out the other. What they think doesn't matter to you because they can't know what is good for you or what you are capable of. Only you know that and when you are positive, you know that you can achieve what it is you set out to do. Any obstacles that get shoved in your path, you simply go around them. Never try to meet obstacles head on or try and go through them. It is a waste of your energy which is better spent on achieving your goal.

    Your Weight Loss Journey

    Think of your weight loss journey as that of a mighty river on its way to the great ocean. To begin with that river starts life as a tiny stream the trickles down the mountainside on its way to meet up with other tiny streams that will join forces and grow in strength, size and volume. While that stream is small and weak, it goes around boulders and logs that fall into its path because it is not concerned with waiting until it has built up sufficient volume and pressure to force the bounder out of the way. By going round the obstacle, the stream continues on its journey and even though it makes the journey a little longer, it is never halted in its tracks by an obstacle because it simply goes around it.

    Your weight loss journey should follow the same example. Obstacles may get in your way, such as changes to your lifestyle, problems with other people, family issues etc. These should not be allowed to stop you in your tracks. They may slow you down a little and force you to take a longer path around them, but no matter what happens, you must keep your goal in sight and keep working towards it.

    With your mind made up, positive and determined to succeed, you then only need the tools to work with in order to complete the job. These are the things that will work on your physical body to cause the reduction in body fat, reduce the weight and tone up the muscles to give you that slim, fit and healthy look that you desire most. Your greatest allies in this part of the journey are exercise and diet.

    It is easy to just put yourself on a calorie controlled diet and yes, you will lose weight by doing that, but it is not enough. A diet is only good as long as you stick with it. As soon as you resume normal eating again once you have lost the weight and finished the diet, the weight will creep back on again. This is because you have only done half the job that you need to do in order to lose weight and attain that great looking body. The other half of the job involves regular exercise.

    Far too many women try to skip this side of their weight loss journey because they think it will be too hard, or they don't have time to go to a gym several times a week or whatever other excuse you often hear. No excuses! Exercise does two major things to your physical body that you need to have happen if you want that great looking, slim body.
    Firstly, exercise forces your body to burn more of the fat it has stored, especially so when that exercise is combined with a calorie controlled diet, specially formulated to be done in conjunction with an exercise program.

    Secondly, exercise makes your muscles work and by doing so causes them to firm up those parts of your body that have become loose and flabby. Diet alone will not do this. You have to do some exercise to really get that great looking body.

    The exercises you choose to do are up to you, or more importantly, a personal trainer or physical instructor. If you think that is an unnecessary expense, think again. Think of it as an investment in your body and its looks as well as your self esteem and confidence, because when you have a great looking body, your confidence and self esteem will grow in leaps and bounds. That makes for a happier and more productive life. So it is an investment in you that is well worth going to the trouble for.
