Here're some of the Tips for gaining Weight


  • Eat food with extremely high caloric value.
  • Try to increase your food intake without consuming too much fat and sugar.
  • Regular meals, especially breakfast, are important.
  • Eat Late - Having snacks at bedtime may also help to gain weight.
  • Relax after having meal.
  • Sleeping in the afternoon also helps in weight gain.
  • Eat Frequently- Eat five or more meals a day.
  • Do regular exercise.

First step is to Eat well regularly. Do not skip your food and avoid over exercising.


  • Soak 6 figs and Some Raisins separately in water. Eat these in 2 or 3 doses throughout the day.
  • You can also eat 1 ripe mango thrice a day with one glass of milk. Do this for at least a month.

Lunch

You have several options for lunch, in order to put on weight. See the list below and mix and match to ensure a well-balanced lunch meal :)

Chapathis – 2
Start with 1 cup salad – all raw vegetables
Dal – ½ cup moong

Rice – ½ cup cooked
Plus ½ cup cooked sabji
Black-eyed peas

Broken wheat – ½ cup cooked
Focus on green vegetables
Rajma (kidney beans)

Rotis (made with 3.5 tbsp atta)
Chole (Chickpeas)
Methi/palak rotis


Low-fat paneer – 50 grams
Aloo/potato – ½ cup cooked
Moong sprouts

Dinner

Dinner is a good time to gain more weight, as calories are not burned easily.

  • Have grilled salmon Fish/Chicken
  • A sweet potato
  • A cup of beans
  • A cup of milk
  • And a fruit smoothie.
  • Another choice is a cup of broccoli, two cups of rice, a large fruit and a protein shake following dinner.

Snacks


  • Have snacks in large quantity.
  • 2 tablespoons Mashed Chickpeas and slices of cucumber with some milk. Another option is a cup of chocolate pudding with soy milk dip.
  • Bowl of soup
  • Bowl of sprouts salad
  • 1 cup cooked sprouts - chana, moong
  • 1 cup all raw vegetables - cucumber, tomato, onion, carrot
  • Dressing of lemon, salt, and pepper to taste
