baby brain development during pregnancy

Is there is any food that help baby brain development during pregnancy. Preferably in vegetarian. I heared that Omega 3 rich food helps. What are the omega 3 rich foods available in Tamilnadu.

you are right omega 3 fatty acids rich foods helps the development of brain.

You can have walnuts, flax seeds, soy beans etc. The items contains more amount of omega 3 fatty acids. I think all these are available in tamil nadu. you can get from big departmental stores..

you can take folwise tablets which contains both folic acid and DHA. My doctor recommends that to me for the brain development of baby...

If there's only a few foods that can be found out in your place, i recommend you to take an Omega 3 Fish Oil Supplements. There's a lot of omega 3 supplements nowadays but the most popular brand is the supplements from Maxalife.

Hi vimal,

ISSFAL (the International Society for the Study of Fatty Acids and Lipids) has established the following recommended minimum dosage chart:

Pregnant and Lactating Women: 300 mg DHA daily.

Ah! Thank you. that much? I hate walnuts, neither do I like flax seeds. Any other nuts good in Omega 3?
