Main Function of Vitamin B12
The main function of vitamin B12 is cell synthesis and making red blood cells. Another main function of B12 is to convert homocystine to methionine. The methionine that is converted can go on to become part of SAMe. SAMe is a methyl group donor that can protect DNA and may be important for cancer prevention.
