Protein

You must increase foods and recipes with protein rich content in your diet during pregnancy. Proteins are very essential food for pregnant ladies. The amino acids in protein are the building blocks of your baby's body.

You should persue 60 grams of protein in your daily diet menu.

Here i am listing some food stuffs which are containing high rich protein content.


  • Egg
  • Cooked Meat
  • Skim milk
  • Yogurt
  • Hard Cheese
  • Peanut Butter
  • Dried Beans - Cooked
You must add any of the three foods (which are listed above) in your daily diet plan.

Carbohydrates

Carbohydrates stands next to Protein, in pregnant ladies diet. Adding more Carbohydrates in your diet, helps you to prevent from Constipation problem and gives you long lasting energy.

Some best foods that are rich in carbohydrates.

  • Wheat Bread
  • Cereal
  • Cooked Pasta/Rice
  • Potato
  • Corn

You can take nine serivings/day of the listed foods.

Important Note to Remember

Must avoid simple carbohydrates which are found in white sugar, white flour, cakes and white bread since those foods are nutritionally empty and fattening.

Fats

Another important diet during pregnancy is the FATS. These are helps you metabolize vitamins like Vitamin A, D, E and K.

Though Fats are the supplier of more Calories, so dont take fat containing foods more than one-third of your daily diet menu.

Some of the best foods containing fats are:

  • Cheese
  • Peanut Butter
  • Lean Meat
  • Peanut Oils.

Important to remeber

  • Avoid to eat foods like meat, dairy products and coconut oil since it contains less desirable saturated fats.

Calcium

Calcium containing foods are so essential for building your baby's bones and teeth. During your pregnancy period, if you don't contain less amount of calcium or not enough, that will put you in risk. The fetus will be rob your calcium stores and there will be a risk for your bone loss.

1,200 mgs of calcium must be your daily intaken during your pregnancy.

Here is the list some calcium rich foods

  • Skim Milk
  • Raw Green Leafy Vegetables like spinach
  • Canned Salmon or Sardines
  • Cottage Cheese
  • Hard Cheese
  • Yogurt
