About the bottles

· First, you need to select the bottle. For emergency, you can buy 2 bottles.

· There are many types of bottles and you can select of your choice.

· The regular standard bottles can be bought. But be sure, that they have the measuring marks on it.

· New type of heat sensitive bottles are also available, which shows the correct warmth of the milk, for the baby to drink.

· Disposable bottles are also available, which may be necessary at times.

· There is an Anti colic bottle, which prevents the air from the bottle to go inside the mouth of the baby, while drinking the milk.

· You can prefer a Wide necked bottle, which will be helpful for you to put the formula inside the bottle, without spilling, if you are going to prepare the milk straight in the bottle.

Sterilization method of the bottle

· You need to buy one Bottle brush and use this always to clean the bottle.

· After cleaning thoroughly with the brush, now pour some water and rinse thoroughly .

· Now, you can sterilize the bottle in two methods.

· Just take a big vessel filled with water and put all the parts of the bottle (middle part, lid, rubber nipple) and bring the water to boiling. Leave it for 10 minutes. After this, you can use it again.

· Or an electric Sterilizer is available in the market. You can put all the bottle parts in it and close it. Then plug it for 10 minutes and the sterilization is done now.

Now, let’s see how to prepare the milk

· First of all, read carefully, the instructions given on the pack of the Formula.

· You need to follow the exact proportions given on it, for the usage of the powder and the water. It should not exceed or be less.

· Boil the sterilized water to 70 degrees and use this little hot water within half an hour. Or you can store the hot water in a flask in case of necessity like during the night times or while travelling.

· Pour this water in the bottle and carefully see the measuring mark.

· Now put the required powder in it and close the lid. Now shake the bottle well.

· You can also prepare this milk in a separate , sterilized glass and then pour it in the bottle. But be sure of the proportion.

· One important thing is to be noted. If the child is not drinking the whole prepared milk, you should never store the milk for the next feed. You ought to throw it out. Should prepare a fresh milk again for the next feed. Otherwise, the child will fall ill.

· Every child has different hunger.

· So, initially, you can prepare only little amount of milk by following the proportions and reducing the quantity correspondingly.

· If the child still feels hungry, you can again prepare and give the milk.

In a day or two, you will now be familiar about the quantity of the milk, which the child needs every time. So, you can prepare that amount on the days to come

Now, let’s see the feeding tips.

· After preparing the milk in the bottle, keep the child on your lap, with his head on your arm, little elevated.

· While feeding, always look at his face and be smiling.

· Never concentrate on any other matter like turning here and there, reading book or listening song or talking to somebody.

· Due to your lack of concentration, the child may turn here and there and miss the bottle also.

· Then and there, remove the bottle from his mouth, ie., intermittent feeding is necessary.

· This is because, the child may need to burp sometimes. If you are continuously feeding him, sometimes he may suffocate due to this and then vomit the whole milk.

· Again , if he is satisfied with his hunger, he will deny the bottle into his mouth.

· Never leave the baby unattended while feeding the milk. You should always have him on your lap.

· Do not make the baby lie down (other than your lap) and give the bottle to drink.

· If he is on your lap, you can immediately attend to his problems if any, which may sometimes occur while drinking the milk.
