Lose Weight with Cucumber Diet

Cucumber has low in calories yet very filling and included plenty of fiber for perfect diet food. Cucumber is excellent for removing trapped water from your body. Water weighs very heavily on the scales and cucumber can aid in removing access water thus losing weight at the same time. If your meal contained too much of sal than you would have liked have serving of cucumber.

  • 1 Medium Cucumber contains about 40 calories
  • 5 oz. serving of cucumber contains about 1.5 grams of dietary fiber, 1 gram of protein, 12% RDA of Vitamin C, a trace of saturated fat and zero cholesterol.
TIP

  • Wash the cucumbers, then cut off the top from the stem-end to remove the bitterness.
  • Cucumbers are usually waxed on outside when you purchase them from the market. Make sure to remove the peel before eating.
  • If you are allergic to aspirins, you may be allergic to cucumbers. Make sure to consult your physicians before consumption.

There are variety of cucumber types to choose from. Choose your favorite.

  • Lemon Cucumber – round, yellow & crunchy
  • American Cucumber – long & light green
  • Burpless Cucumber – (Persian Cucumber) shorter & softer less seeds
  • Pickling Cucumber – smaller in size & thicker skin
  • Japanese Cucumber – long, thin & milder flavor than standard types

Cucumber Diet Recipes

  • Cucumber Salsa: Peel & chop cucumbers into tiny cubes, add chopped tomato, onion, and cilantro. Mix together for thicker tasty cucumber diet salsa.
  • Cucumber and Onion Medley: Thinly slice cucumbers and onions and mix together with your favorite vinegar of your choice.
  • Garden Salad with Cucumbers – Chop or slice cucumbers and add lettuce, tomato, bell pepper, apple, parsley, salt & pepper and toss. Mix fat free vanilla yogurt with few poppy seeds and drizzle over the salad mix to finish.

Another TIP

While cucumbers are great for eating, you can also enjoy bit of relaxation tried at many spas. Slice cucumbers and place them over your eyes for at least 20 minutes. Slice cucumbers thinly and place each all over your face for about 20 minutes. Not only they leave you refreshed, they also help your skin feel softer.
