Water

Water is considered as the fountain of youth. Staying hydrated is among the easiest ways to delay aging process. As we grow older, the risk of dehydration increases so it is necessary to drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water daily. Water is required for nearly all the processes of the body. It removes the waste from specific cells, flushes out the toxins, transfers essential vitamins and minerals into particular cells, provides fluidity for blood as well as keeps the skin moist, flexible, plump, glowing and supple. Drinking water also promotes weight loss, promotes better cell function, increases energy levels and prevents heart attack. You should drink filtered water instead of tap water.

Coffee

Coffee is usually considered bad for health, but it offers numerous anti-aging benefits, if taken in moderation regularly. Coffee is loaded with antioxidants and caffeine that have anti-aging benefits. Antioxidants prevent and repair damage to the body cells caused by free radicals while caffeine decreases the risk of age-related brain problems like Parkinson’s disease. Coffee also improves the cognitive functions, boosts metabolism as well as decreases the risk of non-melanoma skin cancers. Consume one cup of caffeinated coffee daily at breakfast.

Milk

Milk is a complete and the best health drink. Drinking one glass of milk before going to bed keeps you healthy and slows down the ageing process. Milk includes proteins, calcium, minerals and leucine. Calcium is necessary for stronger bones, nails & teeth; protein is good for skin whereas leucine (amino acids) helps in muscle build-up and prevents muscle loss that takes place during calorie restricted dieting and aging. You can even include dairy products in your diet. Lactose intolerant people can consume soy milk and its products. Soy milk is rich in leucine.

Green Tea

Green tea completes the list of anti-aging drinks. It has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that delay signs of aging like sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles. Antioxidants like catechins and polyphenols protect the skin against harmful free radicals and thereby help you to look young. Polyphenols prevent cell damage and inhibit oxidative stress that can cause heart disease, diabetes, certain cancers, autoimmune diseases and other health problems. Amino acids like L-theanine in green tea helps to get relief from stress and anxiety. You should drink 4 to 6 cups of green tea regularly.

Hot cocoa

Cocoa and all cocoa products are packed with resveratrol. Resveratrol provides a number of anti-ageing benefits. It prevents damage caused by oxidation processes, protects the skin from damage and prevents the collagen breakdown & wrinkles formation. According to a study from Cornell University, cocoa contains more antioxidants compared to coffee, red wine or green tea. Antioxidants in cocoa enhance the blood flow which not only makes the skin healthier and fresher, but also decreases the risk of kidney disease, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and dementia. Consume hot cocoa on regular basis to prevent aging. You can even add it to the evening snack.
