While we are taught to wet-brush the teeth with toothpaste, dentists suggest that a combination of dry and wet brushing offer better protection for the teeth against plaque, cavities or gum disease.

Before you use the toothpaste, use a soft bristle brush to brush your teeth without the toothpaste for about thirty to forty-five seconds. This type of brushing allows to you check if you have gum bleeding after brushing or check the area of the teeth being brushed, which is otherwise covered with frothy toothpaste. After dry brushing, wet-brush your teeth with water and fluoride toothpaste, for good oral breath and other benefits of the toothpaste.
