Dyslexia is caused by an impairment in the brain's ability to translate images received from the eyes or ears into understandable language. It does not result from vision or hearing problems. It is not due to mental retardation, brain damage, or a lack of intelligence. 001.jpg

Dyslexia is the trouble with reading and spelling, or struggling to write, or to tell left from right. Some children show few signs of difficulty with early reading and writing. But later on, they may have trouble with complex language skills, such as grammar, reading comprehension, and more in-depth writing.

dyslexia-writing.gif Kids who find it difficult in recognizing letters, matching letters to sounds, and blending sounds into speech may fall under this category in due course of time. This also includes remembering facts and numbers, handwriting, learning new skills.

What wikipedia says about the cure for dyslexia?

The Dore programme or Dore program offers a drug-free course of treatment for dyslexia, ADHD, dyspraxia, Asperger's, and other learning difficulties which has been developed with researchers in Britain and elsewhere.

It consists of a series of exercises which are designed to improve the functioning of the cerebellum, based on Dore's belief that the cerebellum facilitates skill development and therefore plays an essential role in the learning process.

Currently, the Dore programme is available through offices in 6 countries: UK, USA, South Africa, Taiwan, China, and New Zealand.

How to cope up with dyslexia?

1.Build confidence and self-esteem in children suffering from dyslexia.

2.Help the kid to see written language phonetically instead of as representations of pictures. This cures dyslexia because they see the connection between spoken and written language.

3. Use flashcards to teach the kid so that his/her memory power gets improved.
