Welcome and Congrats for your pregnancy Amirtha.

Yes.....the swelling of feet during pregnancy is quite common. It is normal. Nothing to worry about that.

Don't be in the standing position for too long.

The main thing you should follow to reduce the swelling of feet is,

Always try to keep the legs in a elevated position.

While sitting, don't put the legs down till the floor. Keep the legs on a elevated platform like small couch or similar ones.

And try to lie down on the bed very often. While lying on the bed, you should keep one or two pillows for the legs. The legs should be in a elevated position than the chest.

By doing these, you can reduce the swelling of the legs.

At the same time, monitor your Blood pressure also frequently with the doctor and you may need to test the Urine also to rule out any other new complications.

If suppose you have any complications with the BP and urine, then you may need to alter your food habits.

To be on the safe side, please avoid more of salty items. Take lesser salt in your food intake.

If the swelling still persists or does'nt reduce, check with your doctor
