It is a fact that when we are depressed we eat a lot. We always wish if we eat something that can act as an anti – depressant and cheer us up. Well there is a list of foods that can actually help you lighten your mood. And the list goes like this.

Coconut

Although coconut grows in very harsh conditions but they contain some fatty acids that help you fight against depression. Coconut contains medium chain triglycerides that helps better mood. However coconut milk is found to be unhealthy for human, unsweetened coconut consumption will reduce your depression.

Honey

Well honey is just jack of all traits. It can heal possibly everything. It contains kaempferol and quercetin that fight depression by reducing inflammation in the brain. Using honey instead of normal sugar may add a little happiness to your everyday life.

Eggs contain a lot of important body nutrients ranging from iodine to vitamin B and protein. Some of the functions of these nutrients have already been mentioned in the above list. This vegetable contains high level of tryptophan and folate which is usually linked to depression. The decrease in the level of these chemicals indicates the depression level. Tryptophan contains serotonin which is a neurotransmitter that helps you stabilize your mood. Thus consuming asparagus can reduce your depression and stabilize your mood.
