Tomatoes: Storing tomatoes in the refrigerator, will soften more quickly and lose some flavor. Furthermore, the membrane of these fruits will be affected, becoming flour and soft. Ideal is to store the tomatoes in a cool place, away from direct sunlight, and if not very ripe, let them ripen because the darker the red, the greater the amount of lycopene in their skin, substance with strong anti-tumor properties that reduce the risk of cancer, atherosclerosis, stroke or degenerative diseases.

Onions: Onion softens and no longer remain as crisp as when you bring home from the market. Moreover, the smell of onions can affect other fresh vegetables, fruits or other products of your fridge, potatoes were the most affected by gases emitted from onion, if it is near. Once cut, onions can be stored in a refrigerator, but before that keep it in a dark and dry.

Potatoes: When potatoes are kept in a refrigerator, starch turns to sugar composition. Moreover, the appearance of potatoes is affected, their color becomes darker and losing the taste. Kept in a dark place and at a relatively low temperature, the potatoes can remain fresh and up to 3 weeks.

Bananas: Bananas should be kept at room temperature because extreme temperatures are altering rapidly, without baking.

Citrus fruits: oranges, lemons, grapefruit should not be stored in a refrigerator if peeled/cut, so that they will lose much of the flavor and the core will become drier
.
