Home remedies for Menopausal problems

With the onset of Menopause, which occurs due to the stoppage of the Estrogen secretion, the most important hormone in female, Women may face hot flushes , night sweats, tension, insomnia(sleeplessness), diminished interest in sex, irritability, and depression.

Other symptoms are fatigue, palpitations, dizziness, headaches, and numbness.

To overcome these problems, the below home remedies may be followed


· The lack of Estrogen results in the lack of Calcium produced naturally in a woman. Hence, she has to take the extra calcium and magnesium supplements .

· The lack of Calcium may result in the weakening of bones which will become brittle and hence loose their strength very easily.

· This can be obtained from milk.

· The Vitamin D can be obtained from the sunlight.

· She may need to take extra calcium and magnesium tablets to meet the requirement.

· Ragi is very rich in calcium. We can make use of it’s flour in all kind of cooking.

· The use of Beetle leaf chewing every day (only once in a day) will increase the calcium intake.

· The Beetroot juice can be taken thrice a day.

· If you are able to get the seeds of Carrot, boil the seeds in a cup of milk and drink the milk after straining the seeds. This helps in relieving the tension created during this menopausal period.

· The Liquorice which is known as Adhimadhuram plays an important role in increasing the estrogen level, naturally. It can be taken as it is available, or the powder of this can be taken thrice daily.

· The musk root or otherwise known as Kasthuri also helps in improving the estrogen levels .We can use the powder of this. It improves the nervous disorder which may occur during this time.

· Soya foods plays a vital role in increasing the lost estrogen levels. It can be cooked in any form and taken daily.

. Chick peas is rich in Calcium and it can be cooked in any form to consume.

· Daily walking , swimming, cycling and regular exercise will strengthen the bones and will also help to overcome the alarming mood swings during this phase.

· By doing regular exercise, a good sleep would be obtained which is very much necessary to get relieved from the tension and mood swings.
