How to make a Krishna Crown?!

Check this thread out for Lovely little crowns to dress up Kutties for Krishna janmashtami. Many creative options to create with from flowers and lace to recycled materials are out there.. :) Take a look at these Options!





For this lovely craft :
You will need

  • Blue cardboard,
  • Circular white card sheet
  • paints in mettalic shades
  • Gold outlines
  • Plastic OHP sheet
  • staplers,
  • Glue
  • scissors
  • Glass paints

Steps –


  1. Cut a long rectangle from white cardstock enough to circle your child’s head.
  2. Now cut a circle about 8 inches diameter, for the back of the crown
  3. Cut out a peacock feather shape from a transparent OHP sheet.
  4. Using markers, gold outliners & paints, decorate each individual piece as shown in figure.
  5. Stick them all together and your Crown in ready.

You’ll need –

  • Glue stick,
  • cardboard
  • scissors
  • Decorations – beads, glitter, sequins
  • Gold wrapper
  • Markers
  • Gold lace / zari thread.
  • Peacock feather
  • Single punch

To make –


  1. Draw crown Sketch as given in the pic – print & cutout a cardboard shape
  2. Cover the cardboard crown cutout with gold foil / paper . Stick in place with glue.
  3. Embellish the crown with colorful sequins, beads & shiny stickers.
  4. Stick a peacock feather on the top.
  5. Using the single hole punch, make two holes at the end of the crown cutout and lace the zari or golden thread in. Make sure the length of the thread is long enough to circle your child’s head & then some more to be able to tie a secure knot.
  6. And your krishna crown is ready.

A little imagination, the right colors and a heart full of reverence – just the combination you need to make a crown for your Nand Lala this Janmshtami.

Use cardboard cutouts in peacock feather shapes & paint using metallic shades and glitter outliner & glue. Then stick them all on a long cardboard rectangle frame that will form the crown.


If you are looking at just a simple idea – then just use a simple handmade paper to make your crown as shown below.
