How to remain fit on polling day

April 30 is bound to be a long and hectic day waiting in the queue. And with the scorching summer heat already playing havoc, here are some ways to make voting easier for you.

Go early
Since the polling has been scheduled on a working day, make sure that you head out to vote early in the morning. This way, you can ensure that you don't get late for work but also cast your vote. Also, if you have elderly people in your home who are casting their vote, consider going out early in the morning to avoid the long queue.

Keep the Sun at bay
A great way to avoid feeling tired waiting long hours in the heat is by wearing a cap or carrying a sun umbrella with you. And yet, do not forget to wear a sunscreen when you step outside. Wear loose cotton clothes, so that you don't feel the heat.

Have a hearty breakfast
To avoid feeling dizzy and hungry in between, have a whole meal before you go out to vote. Include proteins and carbs in your diet that will help you sustain the heat for a long time.

Carry a bottle of water
You may have to spend some time standing in the line till your turn to vote comes. Thus, make sure that you carry a bottle of water or fresh fruit juice with you when you head out to vote. This way you won't feel tired.
