hai penmai friends,

Today i am starting this thread with the hope of sharing some important medical facts with you all...

(i aimed for medicine... i had only merit and not finance... so, my life had different turns.... hence i am where i am now... but, i always love science and medicine...)

என் நிறைவேறா காதலின் மீது உள்ள பற்றின் காரணமாக மட்டும் இந்த திரியை துவங்குகிறேன்.

இன்னமும் மருத்துவ புத்த்கனகள் படிக்கும் ஆர்வம் குறையாமல் படிக்கிறேன். விவாதிக்கிறேன்; கண்டும், கேட்டும் படித்தும், நெட் இல் தேடியும் வருகிறேன்....

Uncontrolled high B.P is very dangerous...
It may lead to :-
1) hardening and thickening of arteries
2) heart attack
3) stroke
4) congestive heart failure
5) impaired vision of no clarity
6) kidney failure

normal b.p :- 120/80
pre-high b.p :- 120/80 to 139/89
high b.p :- 140/90 or higher....

Eleven (11) great ways to get your blood cholestrol under control :-
===========================================
1) Exercise
2) Lose Excess weight
3) Drink alcohol in moderation. (kudikkavae vendaamae !!!!)
4) Don't smoke
5) eat less saturated fat
6) Limit foods made with partially hydreogenated (hardened) vegetable oils...
7) Choose artery-friendly mono unsaturated fats (such as olive oil and canola oil)
8) eat fish (omega-3 fats) , green leafy vegetables,spinach, broccoli, walnuts, flax seeds
9) eat more fibres
10) Be happy and make time to relax... Take vacations, sleep, meditate
11) Talk to your doctor

> 200 desirable
200-239 borderline high
240 or > high

HDL (high density lipo protein) Cholestrol :-
=============================
40 or > :- desirable
<40 not desirable...

LDL (low density lipo protein) Cholestrol :-
============================
< 70 ................desirable for those at very high risk health problems;
<100 ...............desirable for those at high riks health problems;
<130................ desirable;
130 to 159 ....... border line high
160 or > ........ High

Triglyceride level :-
============

<150 ............. normal
150-199 ........ border line high
200-499 .........high
500 or > .........very high

keys to control diabetics :-

1) Maintain a healthy weight
2) make healthy food choices
3) Keep your blood sugar (glucose) level under control and monitor regularly.
4) Watch for symptoms :-
4.1) excessive thirst
4.2) extreme hunger
4.3) fatigue
4.4) unexplained weight loss
4.5) blurry vision
4.6) frequent urination
4.7) skin infections
4.8) slow healings of cuts and drowsiness

1) relax
2) don't ever worry
3) all pains will fade and go away

Are you interested in knowing your target heart rate range ??

Your target heart rate range is calculated as follows :-
1) start with :- 220
2)subtract your age
3) multiply by 0.5
4) multiply by o.75
