lunch box recipes for kids

My kids often get bored with the lunch items what i have packed to them. They are not eating the foods fully. I have tried different recipies but it vain. How can i satisfy them and make them eat their lunch fully.

Can give chappathi in different way...

Like stuffing the Potato or any curry and make it as a role.
Make mini idlis and give to them.
Can make puris idlis or Dosa in different shapes.

Kids will surely like this.

hi ramsdarling... to make tomato idli just follow these steps.

Ingredients:
Mustard seeds-1/4 tsp
Urad dhall - 1/2 tsp
Bengal gram dhall - 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida - a pinch
Onion - 2 nos (finely chopped)
Garlic ginger paste - 2 tbsp
Tomatoes - 4 nos (finely chopped)
Sambar powder - 1 tbsp
Oil - 25 ml
Curry leaves - a sprig

Idli - 10 nos (cutted into pieces)

Method:
1. In a pan pour oil and season with mustard seeds, urad dhall, asafoeitida and curry leaves.
2. Saute onion till it turns to brown colour.
3. Saute tomatoes till it raw smell goes.
4. Now add sambar powder, salt and cook in medium flame till the oil gets separated.
5. Now add the cutted idli pieces to it and cook it and serve hot.

This will provide a different taste and surely your kids will love it.

Bread upma recipe

Ingredients:

Bread - 10 nos (cut in to small pieces)
Oil - 5 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida - A pinch
Curry leaves - A sprig
Green chilies - 3-4
Turmeric - A pinch
Onions - 2 nos finely chopped
Tomato - 1 no finely chopped
Salt to taste

Method:
  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and urad dal, now add asafoetida, curry leaves and green chillies.
  • Now add onions to the pan and fry till they turn to brown color.
  • Then add tomato and fry till the raw smell goes. Now add turmeric and stir the contents.
  • Add bread pieces and leave it the pan for 2 mins
  • Serve hot.

Your child loves this recipe...

you can make tomato sevai... just by replacing cooked idli with cooked sevai in the above said tomato idli recipe... It tastes awesome....
