[TD]You don't need to spend a fortune to feelike a million dollars. Here's how to have a lovely night in, while barely spending a cent.
BAKING-SODA FACIAL SCRUB
For a super-cheap exfoliant, mix a small amount of baking soda with your regular cleanser. The small particles are gentle on your skin and will leave it glowing.
CUCUMBER FACE MASK
Wash a cucumber and blitz it in the blender. Separate the pulp from the juice and add boiling water to the pulp. Once cool, apply the mask. Let it stand for 10 minutes, then rinse with warm water. It will leave you feeling fresh and vibrant.
TANGY TONER
Apple-cider vinegar makes a lovely toner - just mix one part of vinegar with two parts of water. It works just as well as the more expensive toners - without the hefty price tag.
THE GOOD OIL
For a deep-cleaning facial treatment, all you need is castor oil and olive or sunflower oil. Try the following blends depending on your skin type.

  • Oily skin 30 per cent castor oil to 70 per cent sunflower oil.
  • Balanced skin 20 per cent castor oil to 80 per cent sunflower oil.
  • Dry skin 10 per cent castor oil to 90 per cent sunflower oil.
Massage into the skin, wipe away with a warm facecloth and rinse until all oil is gone.

HAND SCRUB
Give those hardworking hands a treat with this natural and inexpensive scrub. You'll need:

  • 1 tablespoon olive or sunflower oil
  • 2 drops each lemon and lavender essentiaoil
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (white or brown)
Warm the oil and combine all ingredients. Rub into hands, forearms and elbows. For a quick nail treatment, rub olive oil into your nails and cuticles.

HAIR'S A TREAT
Coconut oil is available from health-food shops for just a few dollars and is a brilliant hair conditioner. Simply warm a cup of coconut oil and apply it liberally to damp hair. Pop on a shower cap, wrap your hair in a towel and enjoy a deep-moisturising hair treatment that smells divine. Another great thing about coconut oil is that it also makes a wonderful face and body moisturiser - or even a lip balm.
