Sardines for Weight Loss

Sardines have emerged as a serious candidate in the eternal search for the ultimate superfood that aids in weight loss. Sardines are considered heart-healthy food at the center of a new type of diet where this humble saltwater fish is recognized for the many benefits it brings to the human body. When you include sardines in your breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, you'll gain certain health benefits that help your quest to lose weight.

Omega-3

Sardines contain plenty of omega-3 fatty acid. That's the fat that is considered good for the heart. Omega-3 fatty acids affect how your body burns calories and an increase in omega-3 can positively affect your metabolism. Omega-3 helps your body work better with a certain hormone produced in the body, known as leptin, which triggers appetite suppression. Leptin also works with the thyroid to keep metabolism high and sends signals to your body to burn excess fat as an energy source. This is key to successful weight loss.

Protein

There's also plenty of protein in sardines, which is known to boost metabolism and keep your body feeling fuller after meals. When you are feeling satisfied on a diet, you avoid the late night snacks and the uncomfortable cravings and hunger pains that may lead you to cheat. Protein sends signals to the body to produce lower amounts of hunger signals. Because of the high protein, sardine dishes fit well with popular high-protein, low-carb diets. As a part of a high-protein diet, sardine protein can also contribute in reducing lipids and keeping lean tissue while the body burns fat for energy.

Pomegranate for Weight Loss

Add two pomegranates to your diet each day. Eat all the seeds of the fruit. Eat one first thing in the morning with breakfast. Then eat the second pomegranate in the afternoon with your second snack. Do not substitute juice as it has an enormous amount of sugar. Sugar halts your body's fat-burning process. Pomegranates are sure to help you lose fat for a few reasons. First they contain extremely high amounts of CLA or conjugated linoleic acid. Several studies have confirmed that CLA helps to reduce body fat while increasing lean muscle mass. A study done by the Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry also confirms that the high polyphenol and antioxidant contained in pomegranates helps to increase metabolism, therefore assisting you in dropping those unwanted pounds.

Blueberries for Weight Loss:

Blueberries and their potential to help reduce body fat. While blueberries have been well-documented for their cognitive and cardio-protective benefits, new research suggests that blueberries may change the way we metabolize fat and sugar.

Recent study findings suggest that blueberries may influence genes which regulate fat-burning and storage, helping reduce abdominal fat and lower cholesterol. When combined with a low-fat diet, blueberries might also lower triglycerides and improve blood sugar levels, each benefits of a comprehensive weight loss plan.
