Use Spices instead of Salt


Keep experimenting with different condiments like garlic, ginger, pepper, basil leaves, lime, chilly, thyme and oregano to add taste and Flavor to your dish.

Then add 1/2 the amount of salt than the usual amount. Yeah,, You'll be amazed to see that it tastes good even with less salt.

Check out the Labels

Before you Purchase any, check its nutrient list. Keep your eyes on its Salt levels.

Avoid buying packaged pickle, mustard Coz they have a high salt content. Look for its labels that 'd peruse ‘low sodium’ or ‘no added salt’.

Say NO to salt while eating out


Request to make your dish without salt. Add a little amount of salt once the dish comes to your table.

While ordering pizza or pasta, Ask for vegetable toppings instead of pepperoni or bacon. Never ask for extra cheese or white sauce, Coz they contain a lot of salt.

Have plain rice as it has lesser salt than Briyani or fried rice.

Eat peanuts and dry fruits

Potato chips should be an occasion treat, not a daily snack.

While making a salad, stay away from salt. You can also have on cucumbers and carrots without dipping them in Salt. :)

  • Go for items like low-fat dairy products like milk and yoghurt.
  • Add more fresh fruits, vegetable, fish, meat, eggs to your diet.
  • You can also Choose foods with potassium which help to lower your blood pressure.
  • Opt for sweet potatoes, kidney beans, bananas, oats, etc.
