Try a simple manicure at home

Do your nails have weird-looking cuticles or do your hands feel as hard as a pumice rock? Maybe it's because you give your hands too much stress or that your nails are not properly cared for. Try a simple manicure at home.

-Soak a cotton ball with nail polish remover. Remove all the leftover polish with this. Take the bowl of soapy water and soak your fingers for 5 minutes. When you are done, take a cloth and gently push back your cuticles.

-Get the nail cutters and shape your nails into a U-shape or a 'squoval'. Cut off any hangnails. Soak your nails in lemon juice for about 5 minutes. This will remove the yellowness from the nails.

-Apply a lotion onto your hands and then cover your hands with them for 7 minutes. They should feel soft and refreshed afterwards. Buff your nails or polish them. Remember not to cut your cuticles because that can lead to an infection.

-Remember, the more jagged your cuticles are when you push them back, the more jagged they will be when they grow back. Make sure you do not have any open cuts as you dip them in lemon juice as this can lead to slower healing, infection and pain. "Manicure and pedicure twice a month is a must to keep those hands and feet beautiful," said Aniruddha Chakladar.
