Wearing High Heels in Pregnancy

Is it safe to wear high heels during pregnancy?

While there may be no medical reason which prevents you from wearing high heels early in pregnancy, it may not be comfortable as your pregnancy progresses.

Your center of gravity shifts, your pelvis changes shape, and you put on extra weight, all of which changes the way you walk and makes you less stable. You'll probably find it harder to manage walking in heels and may want to opt for a lower heel.

High heels are known to put a lot of pressure on your lower back, and this may result in back pain later in pregnancy. Also falls are more common in pregnancy and it is best to wear flat shoes and sandals that provide good support and comfort on a daily basis, and rely on low heels for special occasions.
