I Like to eat white Button mushrooms,
do they have any health benefits? Any health disadvantages?

Benefits of White Button Mushrooms

White button mushrooms are a staple in my house. These are the white mushrooms commonly sold packaged or in bulk at most supermarkets. We add them to sauces, eat them raw in salads and use them ground as a meat substitute. All mushrooms have a great number of health benefits. Advantages & Disadvantages of Mushrooms

Advantages:

They're good for you

1. Good source of three essential B-vitamins: riboflavin (vitamin B2), niacin (vitamin B3) and pantothenic acid (vitamin B5).

2. Good source of antioxidant selenium.

3. May help reduce blood cholesterol levels.

4. A vegan source of vitamin D.

5. Low in saturated fat.

6. High in fibre.

Disadantages:

Never pick your own mushrooms as there's a risk you'll pick a toxic variety. Shop bought is better! Always keep your mushrooms in the refrigerator. Loose mushrooms keep well in paper bags in the refrigerator. Avoid airtight plastic bags because they will retain moisture and speed spoilage. Properly stored, fresh mushrooms will keep for five days or longer.
