This is a Yogic remedy to beat excessive heat and cold which is experienced especially during the hot and cold seasons. This remedy is a variation of Pranayama; the Yogic science of breathing; detailed in Yoga.

In the system of Yoga our left nostril is connected to Moon and the Right nostril with the planet Sun.


So, during summer when we are experiencing excessive heat, if we close our right nostril and take a deep breath though the left nostril(inhale) and then close the left nostril and leave the breath through the right nostril(exhale); after a few repetitions our body cool downs. This enables us to bear the excessive heat prevalent in the atmosphere.


Similarly during the winter season, when the weather is cold, close the left nostril and take a deep breath through the right nostril (inhale) later on closing the right nostril, leave the breath through the left nostril (exhale). Repeating this breathing method a few times make the body temperature raise; giving us relief from the excessive chilly weather.
